I think it was you I responded to about Australia's appalling treatment of New Zealand in the early days. We still don't play them often enough imo.

Did you see it?
I did, it's definitely our fault but never a bad time to try and repair a shit relationship

Stop saying 'lol' you're not 12 I'm quite sure, and it really diminishes even your best anti Australian arguments no matter how tedious they're every summer.
For a guy who is so anti-Australian he watches a hell of a lot of Australian matches.

Whats the context of this comment? Like, what is he unhappy about and is seemingly claiming George knows better but isn't able to throw his weight around?
Presumably going in with only three specialist bowlers and no spinner

Are we seriously describing a tap on the shoulder as a 'push'...?
I originally only saw the down the wicket angle and it looks like a push.

Having just seen the side on angle yeah it was more a tap on the shoulder

Ah okay.

It's an interesting comment given we've just recently seen the exact same storyline come out of the pommy camp.

I don't know much about what Stuart Clark is doing these days, but there's really only 3 scenarios here

  • He has inside info, and used it in a media chat without permission
  • He has inside info, and was asked to put it out in public by someone (not necessarily Bails)
  • He is making several assumptions to come to that conclusion

Would say that given the series result, it's a very poor time to leak this if its true. No one is calling for Mac, Smudge or Cummins head. If this was a deliberate leak, you drop it before the series or after a loss.

In that sense, guessing Clark will be getting a few texts tonight.

I wish we had a better rivalry with NZ, we should be playing each other all the time, even if just for good practice.

Generally they get 2 Tests because it’s not competitive but with Australia about to go through a rebuild they may be better then us in a couple years

He is commentating for ABC

Would suggest this is his opinion and not inside info/leak. He probably isn't wrong

Head or Starc Man of the Series?

If Head tons up tomorrow I reckon I'd have to have him in front. Starc started great but has faded as the series has gone on

Starc easy. The series was won first three tests. Two MOTM performances in there for Starc. Not saying Trav’s series wasn’t good or Carey’s. Any other series either one could get that award, Starc was another level especially when you consider we had our B grade attack all those tests.

He's the best nightwatchman in terms of actual batting ability. Didn't really get troubled except for 1 play and miss and that ball that hit the elbow. The Poms would know he's capable because he plays county cricket in the winter over there and a few would have seen him bat.
Id normally agree, but surely Green or Webster would have preferred coming in at 4 as night watchman than coming in at 8 or 9.

Can we please for goodness sakes settle Green in one position? Give the guy a bunch of tests in one area he’s batted 3-7 in basically the last 10 tests! Too much disruption.

Not sure on Webster but not the worst shout

NZ, a country that doesn't generally travel in large numbers (as you would think of with the poms), and not a country that Australia see as a massive rivalry. We will get fine crowds, but no crowds are gonna match BGT and Ashes back to back.

There's a healthy amount of Kiwi expats in Australia, whether enough of them like cricket to boost crowd numbers like when the All Blacks are in town is another matter.

Green maybe not as much as he is a very iffy starter at the best of times but if I'm Webster I'd definitely prefer nightwatchman and the opportunity to bat at 4 than coming in at 9

Starc

He’s devoted himself to this series without other distractions, reportedly costing him a fair bit of coin too and it’s showed in the first two tests when he carried the bowling, then batted amazingly well.

Starc may be the last of the players who really prioritises The Ashes.

And he'll be one who is still getting free beers and public love when he's sixty-years-old. To put his country first when it would have been so easy to take the coin is a life worth leading and a legacy worth leaving. Man of the series, for me.

Alex Hartley ''you cannot get out to this filth''.

the premise is still the same with every single pommy commentator

thinking they are way better than they actually are
