Would England really be happy with that output by Crawley?... he simply isn't up to it.

Not when it isn’t doing what it’s supposed to do.

They can cop it with its based around one game changing knock every 3-4 matches mixed in with a handful of failures. That hasn’t been the case in this series.

The Fox Sports super fast camera obviously on the commentators briefing sheet this morning. Getting more mentions on Fox than Pendlebury's basketball history gets on Bigfooty.
As I mentioned earlier, it's no faster than a $200 gopro.

not many of them have to be fair.

batting has been pretty ordinary all series for both teams.

only 6 centuries the entire series and all 6 belong to 3 players. Root 2, Head 3 and Smith 1. Unless i have ****ed that stat up.

I mean Mitch Starc top scored for us in one innings rofl.

Commentators still banging on about Bethell not having made a first class ton all while ignoring he's scored 94 in a test match!
So... he hasn't made a test ton either? Checks out.

It's still a remarkable selection though, particularly as when he was first selected in the Test side he hadn't made a ton at any level - f-c, List A or 20/20.

To put it in perspective, when is the last time an Aussie was selected in the Test side as a specialist batter without having scored a f-c century?

its kinda fair. his FC avg is 27...........rubbish

sammy konstas copped a fair bit of shit too with similar stats but i guess he has 4 FC hundreds.

After the second test, Crawley has averaged 34. He has a career average of just over 31. So I suppose you could describe him as being "pretty good", given he's performed better than average.

Crawley's record in Australia is essentially the same as David Warner's and Usman Khawaja's in England. Both teams' openers simply struggle in the other's conditions.

All of them average less than 30, let alone 34. Duckett even worse.

So describing him as having been 'pretty good' is entirely reasonable.

Yeah but it’s far kinder than just saying Duckett is a sorry excuse for a test bat.

No commentator would say that because it wouldn’t be true. He’s been one of the best openers in the world for a number of years and a very poor series won’t change that.
