They haven’t been any polls over the Xmas/New Year break. Most people on holiday break inc the pollsters.

Guarantee if there had been the MSM would have had them on the front page.

I’m talking about their internal polling. You don’t understand politics very well, do you?

How come you are always so angry? 😠
Yesterday you said you liked my style and now you’re upset, make your mind up. Did notice you have a habit of liking posts where others are having a crack at me, even posts that are factually bullshit.

As for being angry, I don’t suffer numpties very well, besides I’m not even angry, don’t be precious.

The “like” just before was funny. It was a funny line. I liked it.

I do like your style, it’s different to many people who post the same mundane stuff. Your style isn’t rainbows and fairy floss. You offer something different. The viewer is allowed to like the supporting character.

And not suffering “numpties” is ok.

If it is the path forward all new builds should include solar/battery.

During summer I have been pretty well self sufficient and have exported 1 MWh still, could localised suburban battery storage be the answer rather than centralised large batteries? (honest question, I dont know enough about it)
I don't know much either. All I know is there seems to be a lot of issues with this concept as it's been looked at for many years now without getting traction.

I have had solar for 10+ years and last August installed a battery.

I cannot see how home solar with a battery does not form a massive part of our energy solution.

We use a lot of power in our house but also generate a crazy amount (even with 10 year old panels)

We comfortably get through the evening with the battery and that’s with charging a plug in hybrid at about 4pm.

Obviously winter will be different, I am looking forward to tracking the stats though.

Household Solar/battery could be its own thread but I fear it would turn into a shitshow!!

Fancy having a whole thread devoted to solar and batteries!!

lol.

First off who said I didn’t know antisemitism had gone up around the world?

What our lefty friend showed today though was it’s risen in Australia at a greater rate than elsewhere so whatever list you’ve come up with for Labor clearly hasn’t worked.

Now the stupidity of your question and what you are demanding from those of us on the right, what did the Coalition do? It’s a nonsense question because again you’ve been shown the issue occurred under Labor’s watch, that’s why you’ve been ignored.

I could search through your posting on the matter, but my hunch is you were defending Labor and Albo for not calling the RC, I asked your 0/3 mate kirky and he didn’t answer, was Albo right then or is he right now?
So… no list of what the LNP did when in governement to reduce antisemitism?..

Thought so..

Antisemitism has been an issue for a hell of a lot longer than since Labor came to power.

Its gotten even worse around the entire world due to Bibi and his corrupt genocidal government.

Labor has done more to try and reduce antisemitism than any LNP government ever has.

I provided you evidence of this as you seem to keep bleating the LNP lie that “labor’s done nothing” and I am simply asking you to provide me with a list of what the LNP has done..

Now chop, chop.. get to it..get us all that list..

As for the RC.. Albo’s a fxxkn idiot.. my thoughts havent changed, it will be a monumental waste of taxpayers money..

But thats just my opinion..

I do like the “social cohesion” TOR though.. its pretty obvious what this will recommend.. tougher hate speech, anti racism and anti bigotry laws..

Gonna be hilarious seeing all the right wing racists squealing when they get caught up in the new anti racism/bigotry laws that will no doubt be recommended in the name of “social cohesion”.

Racist scum like Pauline and half the LNP are gonna find themsleves in a pickle!

Will they back the new recommended laws?.. if they dont they are gonna look silly after demanding the RC.

You silly, Labor took over in 2022, what did they do prior to the massive spike which doesn’t include 2025? You wanted the Coalition to have acted with those numbers? Well what about Labor.

Stop kicking own goals.

Of course you can narrow all this down to a few issues .....the spin-off issues are plentiful

Is this made up propaganda ........no, I'd suggest the issues have been so long standing, the electorate is seeing thru the charades

In MELB, with so many LARGE infrastructure projects running concurrently .....they've soaked up a massive number of tradies, at far superior pay ......result: you can't get houses built, either at a reasonable price, or in a timely manner

When I built my first house, it was a 13 week timeline .....factoring in that it was two story, with cement slabs, double brick, terracotta tiles and 10 ft retaining walls .....it was delivered maybe a week over time

Fast Forward ....my son built his house, also two story, single brick .....it took 13 months, ridiculous

You need to read the scope. It's worded to only deal with anti semitism, not other religions or ethnicities. So it will only capture Neo nazis, not general racists

Again why do you think it spiked in 2024 because it was pretty consistent in the years before under both governments?

lol, do you need me to say the words for you? What happened in Gaza doesn’t excuse Australia having the highest increase.

Now, was Albo right in not calling the RC or is he right now?

Any other predictions going into the weekend?

They are looking at all hate speech, which is important.

Imo, as a society any speech that incites violence should have severe consequences.

Why do you think there has been supposedly the biggest rise in Australia?

LATIKA M BOURKE: With his inaction on Bondi, Albanese fuelled division and anti-Semites

At last, the Prime Minister finally put down his shovel and reached for the emergency escape ladder instead.
For more than three weeks, Anthony Albanese’s response to calls for a royal commission was a stubborn “no”.
Those advocating for a judicial inquiry represented Australians from every walk of life. They included the families of those slain at Bondi Beach on December 14, Jewish leaders, business leaders, sporting champions and security experts.

Aligned with Mr Albanese were the Labor caucus minus three members, the Cabinet and the Greens party.
Eventually, the Prime Minister recognised the poor political judgement of the company he was keeping, said he had “listened” and was now in full agreement with those he had been rejecting these past weeks.
His climbdown was as inevitable as his opposition to a judicial inquiry was baffling.
As this column predicted in the days after the attack, Mr Albanese would likely be dragged kicking and screaming to this outcome.

As the Voice referendum showed, he doesn’t like to admit errors or say sorry.
The Draft Letters Patent set out extremely comprehensive terms of reference for former High Court Justice Virginia Bell to follow.
The inquiry will unequivocally examine the rise of anti-Semitism in the lead-up to the attack, encourage approaches for de-radicalisation, and give a vital platform to Jewish Australians to speak about the anti-Semitism they suffer.
It also does not shy away from asking for recommendations on how immigration and law enforcement can tackle anti-Semitism.
This is a solid result. Those who campaigned for this should feel satisfied with what their efforts yielded. Former Liberal MP and federal treasurer Josh Frydenberg should, in particular, feel a sense of mission accomplished.
His intervention at Bondi, calling for the PM to answer leadership’s call was the turning point. He has emerged as a formidable campaigner and operator, becoming a one-man media machine over the summer, coalescing various groups of often quiet Australians into backing the Jewish community’s leadership plea.
If he does decide to return to frontline politics, he has credentialed himself as a leadership contender. Although there is a long way to go between now and then.
He needs to copy Tim Wilson’s playbook and slay a teal by winning back Kooyong from Monique Ryan, but also show that the passion and purpose he brought to the royal commission battle can be translated into routine domestic politics.

The reason people are flocking to far right wing groups is because they are anti immigration and its a trend all over the world. They arent racist for this stance either. For some weird reason and I dont know why, but western countries decided to basically developed white savior complex and decided that unlimited immigration was the answer to the worlds problems.

The ALP maybe the winning party at the next election but Australia could end up being ruled by One Nation who will form a coalition with the LNP.

Be careful what you wish for though. One nation arent the smart and savvy economic masters people might think.

How Albanese failed for two years to see the emergency brewing

The capitulation of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese as he finally agreed to call a royal commission in the wake of the worst terrorist attack on home soil says much about him.
Deep down, Mr Albanese is still the Labor warrior who once declared “I like fighting Tories”. But being a political warrior with fond memories of campus politics was never going to be enough.
His immediate response to Bondi was to revert to type. He didn’t want to give “the Tories” an inch. Just imagine what a royal commission with real powers could come up with? What it might unearth?

How it might show the awful events of that day did not come out of the blue.
That they followed more than two years of creeping anti-Semitism, which became ever more emboldened even as Hamas cruelly held underground the innocents kidnapped during the murderous rampage of October 7, 2023.
Witness the Opera House celebration of the attack. The joy of Islamist extremists. The campus intimidation of Jews; the hate-filled marches to chants of “From the River to The Sea” — a call for the eradication of Israel — and “globalise the Intifada”, an overt encouragement of violence against Jews.
This created an environment in which, even this week, a major media organisation found it acceptable to publish a cartoon that reheated centuries of anti-Semitic tropes.
The cartoon, in the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age newspapers, portrayed demands for a royal commission into the massacre as being orchestrated by political and media forces — driven by Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, who is drawn banging a drum.
The silence from the board of the papers’ owner Nine Entertainment about the wantonly ugly cartoon — which ignored the national demand for a royal commission into a shocking attack at our most famous beach — showed how the once great mastheads have become a vehicle for absurd reactionary radical Left politics.
The same environment brought a chorus of outrage this week — less than a month after Bondi and with families’ grief still raw — about a decision to dump pro-Palestinian Australian author Randa Abdel-Fattah from the line-up at the Adelaide Festival’s Writers Week.
This is the Dr Abdel-Fattah who, after the October 7 attack, reportedly changed her Facebook profile photo to a paratrooper in the colours of the Palestinian flag.
Who reportedly posted on X on Boxing Day, 2024: “May 2025 be the end of Israel”. Who declared, “if you are a Zionist you have no claim or right to cultural safety”.
Concrete examples of how Mr Albanese had failed for two years to recognise the emergency brewing even before Israel’s military response to the existential threat presented by the Hamas invasion.
Failed to stand up to the radical wing of his own party and the extreme Greens who had dragged the social climate into the gutter. Failed to recognise this was not campus politics but life and death.
Coffins of 15 innocent souls are testament to that.

Well if Joshie does make it back into politics he by some chance if ever becomes PM, he will probably get the trifecta as given his prior history he will likely be a fail at PM given he has already failed as Environment and Energy Minister and then failed and leading the pack as Australia’s worst Treasurer.

But just because he has done ok with the Jewish issue, which I don’t thing he did but that is my opinion if the ABC interview was any guide, doesn’t mean that translates to general politics, because we know he sucked balls at that.
