The good thing about this forum is everyone is allowed their opinion even if not accurate. All this talk will go away when he’s still incredibly average again next year for the 5th straight year, he’s first year being his best.

Powell's output in terms of disposals and tackles increased last year but other stats decreased or plateaued. The good thing about this forum is everyone is allowed their opinion even if not accurate.![]()
Yeah that's a fair call ferbs i don't believe his last 5 years have been incredibly average though as was stated He has been working really hard on the parts of his game he needs to improve on according to some who get to training I still think he is my choice to really improve and have a breakout season.Powell's output in terms of disposals and tackles increased last year but other stats decreased or plateaued.
His pressure acts dropped by two per game and that gives some cred to the people claiming he didn't chase enough in defensive transition. It seems he was told to fix this and has by concentrating more on running which should help him chase and pressure.
I think in alot of ways he'll be a barometer for the whole side.
Bit of Groundhog about all this. If he doesn't: A) get the composure back (maybe Nobles took it with him in all his wisdom), and B) quit the meaningless handball padding, there's little point even having him out thereAll this talk will go away when he’s still incredibly average again next year for the 5th straight year, he’s first year being his best.

They also flipped him to many different positions last year, would just like to see him lock down one spot and build from there.Powell's output in terms of disposals and tackles increased last year but other stats decreased or plateaued.

I'd rather Powell stat-pad, than "Claiming 12", Turncoat and Stephen, surely the coaches would too.Bit of Groundhog about all this. You know we can have the preference that no one stat pads, right? It's not an either or situationI'd rather Powell stat-pad, than "Claiming 12", Turncoat and Stephen, surely the coaches would too.
FOS, Sheezel, Powell, Zurhaar to get him involved when quiet all have a licence to, I'd have thought!
Caleb Daniel also delivering (bog average performances for what we paid to get him and what he is being paid) week-to-week by not missing a game in his debut season at the Roos.Week in, week out: Who is your club's most reliable player?

TOM POWELL
A former first-round pick, Powell has been a steady presence throughout the Kangaroos' rebuilding phase. Now cemented as a key cog in North's midfield, the 23-year-old has underlined his reliability with a streak of 49 consecutive appearances dating back to late 2023. He's not alone in setting the standard for durability at Arden Street either, with former-Dog Caleb Daniel also delivering week-to-week by not missing a game in his debut season at the Roos. - Alison O'Connor

Looking for cheap easy receives that don't get us anywhere, that he then handballs off. Mainly in the defensive half.I'm interested how his handball game is stat padding. Does he just sit in the D50 and receive a handball, give one back, gets it again, handballs to someone else?

Matt Crouch and Tom Mitchell used to do this a lot. Powell definitely doesn't do it to the same extent but he's still getting plenty of useless ball.
His first season, he averaged something like 16 touches. It feels to me like he got more ball in his first season than last year. That's what impact does
Yeah. And he's typically in the defensive half when he does itI think you need to watch the games more. He tends to get his handball receives running around packs as part of our headless chook clearance strategy.
