Sydney Swans star Taylor Adams was knocked unconscious on Saturday night during an incident outside an eastern suburbs club recently opened by Justin Hemmes.
The 32-year-old former Greater Western Sydney and Collingwood midfielder was punched in the face with such force he hit the ground and had to be taken to St Vincent’s Hospital by ambulance.

I'm very sorry to hear this. It's way too late to think this kind of behaviour is just boys being boys... we men have to do better. And... those who harm others in such serious ways really do need jail time.

What if the other person was just defending themselves and happen to have gotten a good one in? Still needs to go to jail?

Pretty sure in his brief time at the giants he was a perpetrator at some pub rather then being the victim as seems to be the case here. So maybe a bit of karma or just bad luck this time round.
He probaby thinks he's some sort of hard man who can do what he likes, and when you think that other people go looking for you to see how tough you really are.

@1970crow I get the point you were making. I wasn't talking about this particular case. (I was actually worried that talking about it might specifically be inappropriate if it goes to court). But I do see your point, in general. I am currently writing a fictional story that involves a court case. As a part of my preparation, over a couple of months, I used to go watch court cases. I was trying to say I've heard a lot of people do some very awful things and not get punished... even things that resulted in death... and I'm saying I think they shouldn't just get a suspended sentence and be released on bail, or get community service. I was also trying to remind myself, and other males on here, it is time we do better. I know how easy it is to get in a fight (especially in the early hours of the morning when alcohol has been involved) but... yeah, nah. And I was trying to say it in as non-judgemental, preachy way I could. But... it mustn't have worked. Sorry.

I hope it's a Penguin classic 🐧

So do I!
It's been my main thing, in good times and bad, through the loss of loved ones, my own stroke, and lots of other life events. I think just finishing it will probably be enough of an achievement, but I would love it to become known by others outside my family or friends.
