You mean like AFL when team in front starts kicking it backwards? Or soccer when team in front tries to waste time as soon as they score?
Bit different when there’s no legitimate way of getting the ball back, to the point where teams celebrate at the 1:50 mark and walk on the field with 40 seconds to go.

Those other sports the ball is still in dispute. If you man up you force it long down the line to a contest where you have a shot at winning it back.

I’d say that’s more equivalent to NFL teams running the ball to keep the clock moving but still a chance for the opponent to impact the game, which I have no issue with.

An AFL equivalent to a QB kneel would be chipping it back and forth in the goal square and rushing a behind when pressure came (when it was allowed), and that tactic was quickly shut down when used effectively.
