I think it was when we beat them at AAMI stadium by 139 points on a wet night. Even I was bored watching the massacre
How did Houston go in that game?

And to think I was laughed at when I told the Collingwood faithful on here that their club was getting ****ed over in the Houston trade :$

That and the Lachie Schutlz trade set Collingwood back 10 years lol

He didn't walk away, he was pushed.

Mind you I believe this was before The Great Kochie took over, who never fires anyone. Had he got in earlier, you couldve had Matty and the Tarps for another decade instead of King Kenny.

Port were practically insolvent by the time they hired and fired Primus.

I am not sure if he was a bad coach tbh, Choco rode that PAFC list into the dirt with so many bad recruiting and drafting decisions, and Primus was handicapped by a poo poo platter of assistants and a football department that was severely underfunded and resourced. Thats my recollection of it anyway, philreich can elebaorate.

Sometimes potential good coaches and football people get sucked into really problematic, basket case (off field) clubs like Primus, McCartney at The Dogs, Brendan Bolton at Carlton, every * since Sheedy etc.

Hinkley in many ways was worse than Primus he wasted two generations of talented Port players with a fully flush and resourced footy department.

Its kind of telling no other club wanted Ken services after getting Pink Slipped from Alberton.

Even Carlton?

Even Carlton?

Yeah Carlton have been a basketcase of a club for much of the last 30 years .

Having said that, having the balls not to sack Voss after one bad season is actually reassuring to me as a long delusional Blue Baggers, and i finally reached the undeniable conclusion our list is nowhere as good as i thought.

I am glad we sold Charlie at a premium at the very right time (i'll be honest, i think Wrighty played a much bigger part in Chuck's exit from Carlton than many think)

Gra is a very pragmatic football brain. He will turn our club around. Best appointment the club has made in decades.

If I recall correctly, Dean Laidley did coaching via Skype around then, which shows how dire the resources were for Primus. But one thing I do know is that unlike his successor, Matty always took the job seriously - the thought of lolly teeth in the coaches box, or sharing a joke with an opponent after a loss, wouldn't have even entered his head.

All it took was some Collingwood knowledge

I bet you he drank water too the hippy rather than Coke Zero and Pepsi Max like Ken the loose unit

Of course he would, Primus had Port Colours and legacy running through his veins.

I reckon Josh Carr will be a far more serious and disciplined coach for Port than Cuddly Ken, no more coddling or easy rides or games gifted for underperforming players.

He won't be afraid to drop the big names.
I do actually kind of like the ballsy decision not to take any players in the National Draft.

He thinks the list is good enough (i do too albeit with a couple of concerns about your ruck division and KPD stocks)

Been really impressed with what i have seen JC speak at pressers, he ain't a Kinkley clone.

Port are my smokeys to finish top 4 next season.

I am on a roll btw, i tipped the Patriots as early as mid Octobrt to make this year's Superbowl

Hamish Hartlett took a thinly veiled swipe at Hinkley at a press conference last week, when he said that Carr is far more willing to listen to the views of others than his predecessor. It was Kenny's way or the highway, and several of his senior assistants chose the highway :-).

In the geelong board predictions thread i said that geelong would get more value from Shaun Mannagh in full games than collingwood got from Schultz. Same age, same height, slightly different role.

Whatever Schultz cost Collingwood it should be noted that Mannagh cost geelong the pick that essendon gave us for moving backwards one pick and letting them select Caddy over Connor O'Sullivan.

BOG against Carlton isn't a real achievement. Would be like me smashing a double ton against 10 yo's

And that’s the way it should be when you carry such a heavy burden of responsibility:

Half the state of SA hate you because you’re the coach of Port Adelaide …

… and the other half of the state of SA hate you because you’re the coach of Port Adelaide

A team goes from a GF to missing the 8 and SOMEHOW only one VFL player from said team is “good enough” for the Mofra bottom 40.

It’s the biggest scandal since the 2016 GF umpiring.

Fortunately, I’m sure we’ll be seeing Callum Mills shortly.
