I know his Freo days are a way back, but his last few months in a Docker's jumper, he was one of the best in the league...

People reckon he's vanilla... I think his vanilla is a function of how he's been used by Voss.

Apparently a lot of debate around SSP. Nowhere near decided

Who and how many still up in air. We are looking everywhere and is as much about List balance and the future as anything else

We have Hollands, White, Derkson, Phillips, Riley all training in front of us plus many others outside of club up for consideration and we may still only use one spot. Told no one has been told where they stand or when a decision will be made

I keep going back to last pre season when most though McMahon and 1 or 2 others were logical picks and we picked Evans. Surprised me. Also, when we selected O'Keefe when he wasn't even at club

Austin & Co have a history of picking players no one has considerd. O'Keefe, Lord etc come to mind.

I have no idea how this will play out

Interesting. I’d still have Lij as a lock. I’d be very surprised if we passed on someone who’s likely to walk straight into the starting side.

We might be forced to look at a ruck who can actually jump higher than a foot.

From all the footage Ive seen Lij has been spending alot of time in the As. Getting called a standout even amongst our afl players. I find it hard to believe hes not a lock. I can believe that the 2nd spot is well and truly up for grabs.

I don’t think Elijah getting re-listed has much to do with his ability

I posted a while back that I'm hoping we're looking at someone like Taj Murray to fill the other spot if it opens up. Athletic ruckman from NT with a TDK like jump - unlucky not to be drafted (Rookie Me Central had him as a potential 2nd rounder in the ND).

With 2 list spots on offer, for mine we take a best 22 player in Elijah, and a young 'draftee' like a Murray so we can get 12 months development into them - basically a free hit that we didn't have a month ago.

C4[2]Yo`DooR posted a juicy rumour about a month ago that our other SSP could be from the NT, but it's not Derksen. Haven't heard anything more since though.

Yep, was interesting post, but nothing more heard of since. I like Will White, but reckon we are three talls short for a list balancing. (Will could even force his way to 100 games as a role player, but unlikely to be a game changer.) Talls are needed in the next draft/trade period or two at the latest, and we have the Tassie draft to negotiate in that period. A decent young prospect in the SSP would be ideal. I can see the merit of taking depth types as insurance (Phillips or Derksen), but it is quite short sighted. Would be happier if we chose a projected long term prospect.

Though you'd assume that he's showing what the club wanted to see off-field as well. If he wasn't, he'd likely have been jettisoned by now.

I'd assume he'll end up somewhere else for a bit. If we're not giving him his senior chance then the right thing for him will be to ply his trade with another club and see if he can make more inroads there.

Taj Murray was the only other name that stood out if it wasn't Derksen as per C4's comments, but in retrospect he was probably throwing smoke to help with the VFL signing.

We are still deciding what we will do and we we don't have to make decision yet. Still a few weeks to go and anything can happen. Given a few praccy games to play yet, I reckon we will wait until these are played and see how a few go in them
