League Stage: RFA Process....
Between now and end of April, go to the spreadsheet linked below, find your username. These are all your off-contract players (zero years). Assess your roster and cap on the league site, and respond back in this thread a) all the Rookies you want to sign for 1 or 2 years, b) three Vets you want to re-sign for 3-5 years, and c) one Vet you want to franchise tag and what draft round grade to assign him.

You have till end of April.

Once all this is sorted out, we would move to the FA Auction stage at the start of May.

Correction....

• When a rostered player reaches 0 years contract he becomes a RFA.
• Create cap space by not re-signing unwanted RFAs.
• The spreadsheet lists all these RFA rookies and vets.
  • Elect (no max) rookies to re-sign for 1-2 years contract.
  • Elect (max 3) vets to re-sign for 2-3 years contract.
  • Elect (max 1) vet to give a Franchise Tag to, and a draft round grade for him - 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.
• This represents a draft pick traded to you if he signs with a new team during the auction. If he doesn't attract a bid he returns to your roster on a 1 year contract plus a franchise tag cap hit equel to his salary.
• RFAs on a salary of $6m+ that are released and sign with a new team in the auction earn you a compensatory draft pick.
• Compensatory draft picks are placed at the end of the 2nd round and ordered from highest to lowest salary.

The players who are highlighted in the spreadsheet are RFAs on $6m+ salaries...these are the players that are eligible to earn you a Comp Pick (end of Round 2) if you choose to not re-sign them and they go to a new team during the Auction

Before end of last season.

Typically, once you're out of the playoffs you can start doing this. Tho I like to wait till the Empire playoffs are over so that no playoff teams pick up a player I dropped.

You have till the NFL super bowl itself as the last day of the Empire transaction window.

Yes, I made a mistake, he's in the spreadsheet now. He's an RFA, He went to a zero year contract end of last season.

I will have more of a look next week, and don't want to quibble much just yet, but I think at least one of my team entries in the spreadsheet might need adjusting? Unless there is another rookie out there??

Reminder of the new rules for this season...

• Once promoted to active roster, players cannot be demoted to Taxi for 21 days.
• When a player is on IR or Taxi 50% of his salary counts against your cap.
