2026 O&M Football league discussion.

With a stack of recruits and the PP system in affect, I was curious what both Albury senior and reserves sides could look like this year.

I mainly copied the senior 22 the O&M Live team put together the other day, with a couple changes.

Put together a reserves 22 with the players left over. This is just a hypothetical to give you some idea of what the depth in the twos could look like. And a fair list of emergencies…

Have ONLY named players that Albury announced as signings/re-signings on their socials. Ofcourse there will be injuries and possible departures etc, Every player named in the reserves 22 (not including new recruits) played seniors at some point in 2024.

Corowa would be one of only a few towns on the Murray river that is going backwards. Not a good outlook for local footy.

Izaak Twelftree from Norwood looks the pick of them. Raven Jolliffe has finally joined Crezza again, but has hardly played past couple years. Will Chandler back from the SANFL & the son of Horse Longmire but have lost the Griffith boys who were really starting to find their feet second half of last season.

Still yet to land a ruckman to replace Richards ?

North Albury’s season got worse on the weekend at their camp. 3 players injured from a non football related incident. Young Gardiner done a shoulder badly, Moncrieff and another injured as well. Coach was certainly “at the helm”

Hard to say due to a fair turnover of players. Still a ruckman and a quality midfielder short at the moment.

Had they kept the Griffith trio & Melksham then recruited specifically to fill gaps then they could have definitely climbed the ladder this year.

Don’t know what the training arrangements are this year, but having a large chunk of the senior squad based in Melbourne, Geelong and Sydney and rarely training together would make it hard.

I just think that a clubs coach should be a role model, and some of his games for an extremely good player have been shocking when tagged. Other than that, I love him

Yep good call, I was certainly wrong. Massive for the league, 6 games plus finals, will get an even bigger crowd than fev. Youd think Easter game would be locked in. They could get 20k to watch, I reckon a few tigers supporters would rather watch dusty than the current team
