The most probable scenario is catheter ablation for a benign electrical rhythm issue, most likely SVT.

These are common, very treatable, and many professional athletes return without limitation.

maybe this can be a lesson to people to not post every salacious whisper they hear and for everyone else not to immediately run with it and spread it. Considering it ended up in a completely innocent player being forced to publicly announce a health scare he didn't want out there.
It was already out there. Someone posted it a month ago

You’re serious aren’t you?

I'm very much hoping my source got their wires crossed and the investigation was just what is mentioned in this article. I'm very confident this player was investigated for gambling issues. Hoping it's minor and not as bad as it had sounded though.

Sounds to me like the AFL has done an investigation into the 'bet with mates' feature and found that there's numerous players, coaches and officials that are involved in these and that there have been bets on AFL games. And that there's also been instances where bets have been placed on games where the player is involved. And maybe one of our players is one such example. But because it's fairly widespread and inadvertent, a warning has gone out to the entire industry.

So to me, there's strong evidence that your mail was correct, but because it's widespread and not deliberate or meaningful contravention of the rules, everyone's been told to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I'm very much hoping that is correct and we don't hear anything else about it.

You can’t be serious?
Kane Cornes implying that he didn't have a heart issue and it was just a cover up for something else? yeah he should apologise, he asassinated Soligo's character and implied the club was shady, which added to growing speculation around other rumours.

If it wasn't a Crows player he wouldn't have said it.

There was no club release at that stage was there?
Only Edmonds tweet that said unnamed injury?
I think it’s fair enough to ask if the afl was going to enforce what they’d said they’d do.

The tweet literally said more information would be provided later in the day

And? I don’t get the outrage, calls for suing and apologies are crazy.
Kane just asked if the afl would enforce what they’ve said they’d do and tighten up on mystery injuries.

I'm very much hoping that is correct and we don't hear anything else about it.

The article states no bans to AFL players were handed out. It appears the letter to the clubs is the full stop regarding this particular audit.

It is curious that throughout the article it refers to AFL and VFL and when Ralph talks about bans he just states no AFL players were banned, no mention of VFL players.

I dont mind the rumour as presented by DJ75

Obviously it was discussed at club level and there was mild panic around 1 player

But given further news it seems this is more a warning rather than a sanction

Oh and Im guessing DJs mate no longer works there :D

Yep I think mail was correct and came out with AFL investigating. Likely implicated a whole heap of players including some big name VIC players. So in true AFL fashion released a statement and swept it to under the rug.

Or a routine audit has picked up some vulnerabilities regarding some newer betting products. Lack of education with AFL/VFL players and officials as well as players and officials in breach for promoting betting without AFL approval.

I just don't get how difficult it is for an AFL player not to bet on AFL.
If you want throw your money away, by all means bet on literally anything else. Want to drop a hundred on a horse race in Latvia? Sure. Go for it.
Just leave AFL until you aren't involved anymore.

Can't be that hard surely. Takes a special level of dumb to still be doing it.

They’d have an addiction you would think

Or... you could have read what I wrote two pages ago! ;)

Lack of education? Come on, it doesn't need education. Don't bet on AFL if you are in the industry.

And a special level of "we know our employees are dumb" to let it off without a penalty

This was the finding of the audit, not my opinion.

It's unstandable for people to think a breach of the rules means a player bet on AFL games.

There's heaps of ways you can breach the rules and these rules apply to many people, including players and officials in the VFL.

I suspect the VFL component and the new 'bet with mates' have slipped through the gaps of education (my opinion).

I doubt there's many AFL players who are not adequately educated on betting on AFL games.
