I know its a broken record but Logan Morris is something special. Absolutely roasted macandrew last night. I know its practice but I don't think were gonna have enough money to hold onto this kid. I know its early doors but to my eyes he is Jeremy Cameron / Wayne Carey levels good.
We need to offer him an extension immediately.

I still don't understand how Morris can outmark taller opponents so easily. Must just read the flight of the ball much better and is strong enough to keep his eye on the ball and hold his position

This is not a criticism of Logan at all and I agree that he's a way better mark than he should be, and uses what athleticism he has really well - but some of the ball movement last night and last year is absolutely bullshit that can't be defended.

End to end in 3-4 kicks with him having 20m space out the back because we've detonated the other team's forward press.

Umpire throws the ball left not straight up LoL. Shambles
BTW being a genuis is a low bar for footballers, but probably more reflects the intelligence of fox footy.

Rule is definitely a shit show for everyone. One of the dumbest things is there isnt a simple line for everyone to judge where to cross. The stupid sell out advertising covering the line means noone is 100% clear where it is

Like look at this bullshit:

Why does Brain attempt this kick. He wasn't considered a great kick as a prospect.

It's an under pressure kick to an incredibly risky part of the ground to turn the ball over.

Yet he hits it and then logan kicks a goal from the goalsquare less than 20 seconds later.

Isn't he only playing as a defender because Ballard is out with an ACL?
And no room in the forward line with King, Walter, Read, JUH, etc

Just too undisciplined and lost as a backman who needs to line up on a smart forward

Also there's an argument you perhaps need to have grown up with the game to be able to play as a forward, be able to read the game and make the play etc rather than have it come to you as it might when you're a defender.

Connor Budarick they traded to the Dogs. We were also interested in him.
That's the one. Yeah Ballard is an important out for them. I remember him giving Eric an absolute bath at the Gabba one night.

In addition to what Tom said, I think he also often gets his body in a position where defenders either have to panic and give away a free or get outmarked. That gangly leap stuff he does is gold.

It’s not the same technique but similar to what curnow has done for years. Leaps to mark in a way where if he feels any contact he will shooting stars his body so he lands on his back.

Oppo clubs continue to moan about our "handouts" but then allow us to draft this key position talent late in drafts. No wonder the club who bid on Ty Gallop in the 40s was Geelong.
One of the commentators did mention that when talking about Morris being a pick 31. That clubs might go one about academy picks but when we are picking up someone like Morris at pick 31 they're not helping themselves.

For top teams practice matches were traditionally games where you got some miles into your legs and did your best to not get injured.

Competition for spots is obviously a bit hot at our club because those on the cusp really threw themselves in last night and it seemed to infect some of the old hands to really have a go.

No signs of complacency as we've really refreshed our list and those coming to the club are keen to impress.

I remember Bruce's first few games in the AFL and he really stood out with some of the imaginative ways he was able to get hold of the ball and score. But I thought a this age he didn't have the strength and body to compete at Senior level . That problem's been solved. He's obviously worked very very hard because his physical transformation has been something to behold.
I was in the thinking that we should be getting games into Marshall rather than Bruce because of their similar outputs while Marshall being a good few years younger. I was very wrong on that one.
