So it looks like our Lachie was not the first man in history to play up on his wife.... well knock me down with a feather.
So why is it such a big secret but not a secret?🤫

How dare anyone ruin his reputation.

Not a secret because Roo was apparently given an ultimatum by wife and he ended it all, went to US to pretty much save the marriage. Since then it became a hush hush backroom story without becoming anything beyond that.

Jules didn't leave any recourse for Lachie considering it was too close to home betrayal. Insta post lit a fire for media and Neale has been front page news since then.

I have not been to the USA but is there no desirable women over there?

Wife from Texas, I'm guessing Roo got locked away in a ranch somewhere while over there

I can’t see this being rorted at all. Really well thought out stuff from the AFL.

It’s so good that perhaps the #1 news breaker on the AFL website just uncritically floats these half-baked ideas from AFL house that any 8 year old could identify problems with.

We have a problem in too many father-son and academy picks compromising the draft, so the solution is more compo picks?

Wonder which club got in the AFLs ear last to propose this half baked idea?

This administration under Andrew Dillon are so reactive to anything bought up in the media, really is a shambolic body.

Clubs plan for drafts/recruiting/trading years in advance, any change should be a minimum 2 year wait.
I’m pretty sure this idea will have come from club land, and not from AFL house.

Also, I’d say it’s a select few clubs that plan drafts in to the future.

Nah lets just make last minute changes like:
  • the points values,
  • number of picks you can use,
  • points values again,
  • how many selections you can make
  • whether certain types can be selected in the first round or not
And not have any of these rule changes on their own to understand the impact before we jump to the next change

Yep, I wouldn't have wanted the AFL organising a chook raffle at my pub all those years ago, incompetent rabble.

The AFL should be running the game for the benefit of the game not pandering to whining clubs, they need to take an overall view not tinkering every year to placate the media/clubs.

Probably don't plan because of the reactive administration of the AFL the clubs can not be sure what the rules will be from one year to the next.

So if Clubs with picks 1 to 5 pick a F/S say, and that bid is matched, they get an extra pick at the end of round 1 of the draft.
So they still get their 1 to 5 pick, pushed out to 6 or whatever, plus say 19, or 20.
As 1 poster has said, (that Annable may not really be 1 to 5 material), then don’t match, and say to Annable, see you in 3 years if you still want to play for us.
The Clubs with picks 6 to whatever should then be very grateful to us and respond appropriately.

This must be incorrect. Where are the Queensland academy products??? Lol

I would like us to be able to take a pick, before matching on our academy kids this year.

p.s. draft watchers are already saying that this year is stronger than last year, and next year is stronger than this year.

The draft is stronger or the academy prospects?

What rd do you think the academy prospects we are most likely to take will fall? What position, any key position?

Stronger draft, weaker northern academy crop.

Won’t really know where our academy kids fall, until the U18 Champs.

Gut feel says early second round at this stage.
