Yeah, I think conflating "drug paraphernalia" to mean something genuinely serious is maybe a step too far, could have been an empty, dubious looking mini zip lock bag for all we know.

Still as others have mentioned, it's really only as big a story as it is because of the sweeping under the rug aspect. Clearly Hawthorn didn't consider it newsworthy when it happened, now they have Moore doing an interview about it four months later. What changed? Rhetorical question of course - we know what changed is the media heard about it and now they're in damage control.
