Review Round 1 loss to North

I had a feeling that North would be up and about and desperate to improve and that they might just beat us…but I didn’t see this coming!

Josh Carr has been left behind a poisoned chalice.

Time to start using early draft picks and not throwing them away for magic beans.

At least we might not need anything extra for Dougie.

Well that was awful

Time to hide for a while

Not cause I can't take awful losses

But I cannot put up with any sort of Hinkley revisionism that is inevitably coming if it hasn't arrived already

It was never about wins or losses

It is about trying something different

This is on all those who have ****ed up the club for countless years supporting Hinkley, your ineptness is on full display yet you will not hold yourselves accountable.

Carr will have to prove that he is the man as he did not have to go through any sort of genuine selection process!

No positives to come out of this. Very much looks like the same lazy, weak, mentally fragile and generally disinterested team from last year.

Can't use the Hinkley farewell tour mentality and thus the players being checked out excuse anymore - The "Kenny has gone, No PAFC crowd" all feeling very smug now.

Big test for Carr now, if his Port Adelaide is a club of accountability he send's messages at selection this week.

The playing group has been a clearly mentally weak group for a significant period of time. I guess i was delusional to think Carr could change it in one preseason with only a few new fringe players joining the group.

Looking at our squad last year, injuries had little impact, when we were fit we got whacked, injuries hid that issue and the usual preseason optimism glossed over the reality we knew last year, that our list is trash and we're in big trouble. Hinkley rode this squad into the ground.

Im a bit shocked at how bad today has gone, we didn't just lose, weve been absolutely pumped. The game was over a couple minutes into the 3rd and turned into a zero intensity training session.

Given that, all the fears I had that we were in trouble, and set for a rebuild, have not only become possible, but instead theyve clearly become the absolute reality for us now. We're in for a very, very long year and we need to be making decisions NOW for a quick rebound.

The most disappointing part of this performance has been that again we put up the white flag AGAIN, and its not like we're getting thumped by 80 by Geelong again, it's North and now even North are able to pump us. These collapses, where you just know the game is completely over, are so embarrassing. There is zero backbone in our group.

Our position now is right there amongst Melbourne, Essendon & Carlton as those nowhere teams. Having wasted many, many years of potential and leaving our list completely shot.
