Just supporting his gf’s brother clearly. (Jaggas sister)
Let’s not cut his head off just yet lol but that must feel Strange for him given he is a tigers fan

Let’s remember reef was a Essendon fan
Saxena went for the hawks
We can’t tell these kids who to support before we draft them
Ah didn’t realise there was a connection there.
Love that he is a Tigers fan! I can stomach that.
He’s ours at least.

Maybe he can bring Jagga back home eventually haha

So is that a Good or Bad Thing?
Good thing.

As it is, they've already taken too long to respond to what is happening with Gold Coast and they're going to be a juggernaut - which would accelerate even further without changes. There's a couple of schools in their zone where kids do a footy based program within the curriculum. Morning strength and conditioning, footy training within the timetable and health and nutrition classes built around requirements for a professional athlete. And they handout scholarships which effectively makes their zone much bigger. The acceleration of kids coming out of their academy isn't a fluke. They're going to have regular top 5 picks within their academy. If they all go to Gold Coast - the rest of the comp won't be able to compete.

Oakleigh played a practice game v sandy tonight. Seems like their best 22, which has Eli and Ricky included.

I'm told Ricky was very good. Has real speed as a small/medium forward, and elite endurance

Eli was alright, playing a forward role. Half forward and deep.
Kicked 1.3..

Hopefully he isn't taking advice from Cloke lol

I was up in McKay about 10 years ago and drove up the coast. I was surprised by the amount of schools that had footy ovals in them.

Eli is now 190cm and turns 17 tomorrow, so hopefully has a little more left in him
He looks like an early developer. I won't be surprised if he's stopped growing.

It’s hard to say. Apparently his uncle was 194cm so his dad thinks he could grow a little more- but he has grown 6cm in the last 2 years.
Even if he’s stopped that’s okay for a medium forward- mid

Any word on how Christian went?

Any word on how Christian went?
Didn’t play. Neither did Ted. Or Egan
This was basically the best 23 to start the year. But they will get their opportunities
Max has had an injury interrupted preseason so he maybe not match fit yet

Yeah.
So much for them saying last year "We'll see how this system goes for the next couple years" before change.
They jump to extremes when someone complains.

Clubs will have to hope their players sort of not perform or get injured so they dont have to top top dollar, because they are saying.. if a player is a top 5, you might need two pick 7's to match.
Will determine how much a club wants a player
They’ve done the same thing since forever, jump to extremes and then dial it back in 1-2 years. Honestly it’s great that they’re doing it now, Carlton have a potential number 1 pick, so I’m thrilled they’ll have to cough up, while we don’t have any real top prospects we have to stress over. I’d imagine if what’s being reported comes to fruition the pushback will likely be hard enough that they’ll dial it back a little within 12 months too, so shouldn’t hurt us too much with Eli, Fraser etc.

If he can be our next JDG then that’s perfect.

If you think Eli wearing the blues scarf at the game to support his gf's brother was bad, I just saw something on insta. Our very own Zac, supporting his mate (who was drafted to essendon last year) wearing a bombers scarf..

Anyway I went to vfl training tonight, and to my surprise the academy boys were out on the track. Which apparantely is very rare as they are usually inside.
I spotted a couple of the newbies. Nick Rigby, Zach Kassaby. A lot of ones I don't know who they are. Ben Richardson.

There was lots of girls too, NGA and F/D I would think.

And then there was the older boys. Eli. Ted. Cooper. Luke. Egan. Ricky. Max Christian was there but must have been inside, I saw Michael Christian and his wife go inside the club.

Then saw Ted's parents.

They really should let the boys hit the track more often. Instead of being cooped up inside, let them hone their skills outside.

Some time ago there was mention of Sav and Ant Rocca’s sons as future prospects. What’s the story there now?

Gee, we could certainly use a forward target like Sav or Ant right now! Their long-range kicking was unbelievable. Goals routinely sailing through at post height from outside 50m. It was glorious.

Seeing Mihochek's toddler decked out in red and blue was hard to take.

Are you able to post full names and what positions they are/most likely to play in AFL?

Ted Fraser- forward / ruck
Eli Kravic - medium Forward- Mid
Luke Devalle - mid
Cooper Brancatisano- half back - mid (he’s a national sprinter)
Tjaegan Egan - forward
Ricky Hobson - small forward
Max Christian - key defender

We are 3 days out from round 1. We'll know the teams come Friday. Our focus will be on Oakleigh this year.

I think Eli and Ricky probably the only ones likely to get a first round start early on. Based on the practice game.

Game details:

Saturday March 21st
Oakleigh v Knights

While every game will be streamed on the afl app, I think apart from these exclusive games. But they'll end up on the app.

These games will have commentary. But you'll need a subscription to watch these

Ei's brother Joel made the final U16 squad for oakleigh
I'm told Zach Kassaby did too, as a bottom ager, which is impressive given his age. Though for bottom agers, its generally more for experience/exposure. Oakleigh doesn't tend to play them in the games, I don't think.

Longer than that. Off and on through his early teenage years. Even Josh said on radio in 2020 that Nick was a blues man at heart at the time
If that’s the case, we should trade him. No loyalty. Poor judgement.

He obviously doesn’t like to admit it because I’m sure in a post game interview last season he said it wasn’t actually true as he maybe have supported the Blues for a week or so.

Actually may have been 2009 season. When he was 6.

Nick described his Carlton support as a brief period, lasting roughly around 2009 when he was about 6 years old, partly influenced by playing local football with Tommy Silvagni.
