There’s probably a smart way to do that but I’ve done it the dumb way and taken screenshots
Might give you an indication of what you’re dealing with here 😬
Welcome to the group mate. As others have alluded to, that's a horrible team for Fantasy but we've all been there.

The aim of the game is to build a team of the best players as quickly as possible. The best way to do that is to increase your team value as quickly as possible.

I'd focus on your bench first. Rookies increase in value the quickest. You want to look for players with good scoring potential who are likely to play every week. You've already got Jagga Smith and Willem Duursma so I'd be looking at bringing in Sam Grlj and Lachie Jaques this week.

As others have mentioned, key position players and small forwards/defenders typically don't score very well, so look to replace them with cheaper players that will increase in value. Barrass and Walker stand out to me as players to trade out this week as they are neither scoring points nor making you cash.

Thoughts on not going Serong and going the big cash grab:
Gulden - Cook
Colby - Murdock (Grlj dpp)
Leaves me 1.3 million in the bank to target Holmes/Baz and also Houston who I missed next week?

I looked the other day and couldn't see it and still cant... do I need glasses?
TedDougChris gave the right instructions, but an FYI that caught me scratching my head was that the window has to be full-screen. Mine was only slightly below full screen, and the field option wasn't visible, and your team can only be in a list.

Career high season average of 76.5 back in 2019. Makes me a bit skeptical even though I can see the logic.
Yeah this has played on my mind, but Keane & Hinge being out gives me stronger conviction on the play. Half backs are scoring far better and we saw Daniel, Noble and Ash all improve their averages last year with increased kick ins and role last year.

Most other options are fully or overpriced. seems like the safest value option that’s genuinely value.

Have a crack at it Madas. Reminds me of my first DT season where I picked Matthew Scarlett, the wrong Cornes and a generally hopeless rabble.

And now that we’re underway you can just trade your least scoring expensive players to higher scoring cheaper players.
Gotta start somewhere, I remember picking Darren Glass first year and only last year I was picking Sam Taylor

Yep, this was it, thanks, was zoomed in slightly for some reason.

This is after Erol to MM.
Second trade Blakiston or Sharp to Blamires I guess.

Good advice
Thank you 👍
And I worked out how to share the team 😁 IMG_1325.webp

Finding it hard to split the two of them. But yes, at more or less a complete guess, leaning to Lindsay over Windsor just as he might have a more free type role to pick up easy possies? You have a preference and reason either way?
I agree with that, I’m actually now considering moving A.Roberts on before both Windsor and Lindsay to bank 1.3m for next week rather than 1m.

Is that worth the extra cash or should I be giving A.Roberts another look this week?

I'd say Roberts' game was more of an anomaly than Lindsay's. I've booted Lindsay because he doesn't look like he wants the footy.

Put Kozi on field and follow Barrybran's advice.

Also make sure from your screenshots on the app you click the 3 dots next to interchange players and select E.

Last week when Bowes didn't play you could have had the E on Jagga and his 99 would have counted for Bowes not playing and you'd be ranked wayyyyy higher.

I haven't got Roberts but from what I read and saw about his role I'd be trading him before the other two and banking the cash. Edit: And similarly, I'm now thinking of trading Clark out before those two for same reasons.

I don’t have Roberts but am doing the same thing with moving McKercher over Windsor or Blakiston too.

There was talk pre game that Roberts was sick. Could possibly explain the massive dip in TOG and scoring

For Phillipou owners - if he's named this week are you holding on? He wasn't scoring incredibly before his injury (33 @ half time), but he was St Kilda's highest CBA guy at that stage so he had the role. I think I'll back him in if he's named - St Kilda are a high scoring team, surely if he's one of their main CBA mids (like he was first half on the weekend) he's an easy 80+ guy
I made the mistake of going the Pou, Kerch and Bergman. Changed to those spuds last minute from Sinclair, Fonti and Reid.

Honestly don't know what I'd do if Pou were named. He did score 25 or so in the first and as you say, the role looked good.

In the context of my shitty team, I think I'd hold Pou if he were named. I prefer his role to both Berg and Kerch. Maybe that changes if Port name a key back as a replacement for Marshall.

Think I'll be sticking to the double down to Cook and Murdock. But it is bloody tempting to pass Cook and get Murphy Reid in with Young out.

He's just not a good fantasy player. I'd get off.

Whats better op of Gulden & Kerch to MM and either Milera + 200k (via dpp) or Serong. Will be banking cash for next week either way

Pretty set now on cashing up and having another look at a few things

Gulden and Gallop to Cook and Duursma. 740k itb

Now what selection suprise are we going to get that changes everyone's plans?

Would definitely be passing on Serong and going your 2nd option if it were me

Murdock and Cook aren't quite must have but I think they are very, very good to haves

Serong wont be a top 8 mid imo, get a better one next week

Just looking at my r3 bye structure and the only mid currently on bye is Anderson.

Would it be crazy to bring in Bont for Gulden this week? Would probably give me a little more balance, and the other options are promos I don't really rate, whereas I'll happily carry Bont for the whole season.

If you have nothing else to fix up, sure, as long as you're aware of the Dogs' upcoming bye.

I have the mindset that you pay whatever you need for one you intend to keep for the whole year, and never trade them out unless there's a clear trend of non-performance or a long term injury.

Fair point. Started with MM so don't need to get him, not sure Duursma is an essential pick so I'm good on the rookie front. Guess I'll take the punt!
