If the Federal government want to ease the cost of living all they have to do is lower the excise and gst on fuel.
Excise is tied to inflation but gst(10%) is added to the final sale at the pump. So if inflation goes up as it is they charge more excise. Would have thought that would only cause inflation to rise further?
As for gst the campaigners are cleaning up. Fuel has nearly doubled these last few weeks so the feds gst intake on fuel alone has nearly doubled.
