Picked it up on my way to work this morning, will see how it goes. Sounds like you just need to spend a bit of time working things out.
A lot of divisive comments and no-one has even played it yet, FFS.

No. But being able to get used to a backwards ass control scheme doesn't mean its not a pain.did you miss the second half of your own quote?
true. It would be nice if the game was absolutely perfect but sounds like it isn't.No. But being able to get used to a backwards ass control scheme doesn't mean its not a pain.
'Journalists who have to play heaps in a short time span naturally won't like this' says man who has played heaps in a short time span.
It was literally mentioned as a pain point.No. But being able to get used to a backwards ass control scheme doesn't mean its not a pain.
He played 70 hours and learned controls, most of the game complaints come from journalists who don't learn the controls.
Ha yeah was thinking that. Minor details there, she'll be right

I'm sorry, but as someone who runs an outlet that gets early access to games, this is one of the dumbest and close-minded things I've read. Just because someone you like/follow posts a positive opinion, it doesn't mean the person who didn't enjoy it is wrong. Too many Gamers who "don't trust reviews" or think "journalists can't play games" when the opinion doesn't align with what they were hoping for.He played 70 hours and learned controls, most of the game complaints come from journalists who don't learn the controls.
Some of the grinding criticisms seem not dissimilar to souls like games. While it's the more accessible title I understand and the only one I've played....as a self confessed scrub, Elden Ring was one of my favorites experiences of the last 20 years.
Not sure I follow this one? I've played every From game and probably spent maybe 2 hours grinding across the whole series, it's really not required. This seems like a very different kind of grind, much more akin to an MMO.
I don't follow reviewers or "game journalists", they serve no purpose in my opinion especially in Australia where we can return games.I'm sorry, but as someone who runs an outlet that gets early access to games, this is one of the dumbest and close-minded things I've read. Runes to level up and materials for sleeping pots. Got up to Godskin Duo before having a break which I haven't (but want to) return to. Admittedly bee-lining the main quest. Obviously stuffed up a few times with dropped runes.
Maybe we have different interpretations of what grinding is.
Ok. Yet you still felt the need to put this out there.I don't follow reviewers or "game journalists", they serve no purpose in my opinion especially in Australia where we can return games.

I think we do - to me, grinding is stuff that takes you away from doing the meaningful quest/content. Busy work. The more insidious grinding is that which is mandatory to meaningfully proceed in a game.
Levelling up in From games is part of the main gameplay loop and doesn't require repetitious activities or replaying the same content over and over again.
Yeah I ended up stopping/skipping chunks of reviews as with a game like this you don't want to know too much.
Last review when I stopped altogether was an Aussie constantly whinging about "im going to a lot of comments about git gud".
Miss the feeling of leaving Los Santos for the first time in GTA San Andreas, or arriving in Mexico in RDR.
Acknowledge that it's probably going to have some paint points and not perfect but happy to deal with those. Also get why people don't want to jump in first.
