El-Hawli has looked better in his defence compared to last year.

Cox. Taking the piss.

Farrow looking pretty good.

Did not see the first half so based on the worst quarter and the last. Maybe some injustice to some who may have been better before half time.

Day-Wicks showed a bit. 19 touches and a goal.

Farrow good.

Tsatas was not the level he has been in some VFL games, but his clearance work was good. Kicking not a real issue. In the best 5.

Cox. Hardly saw him in the third quarter. Did a couple of good things in the last quarter but 10 disposals and no impact for most of the game.

Gerryn. Looks good at times but i am not sure he is a defender. Hard to make a judgment on his game given how they ran the footy inside 50.

Robey drifted in and out. Just about getting playing time right now. Probably did earlier. Not sure he played a lot of minutes in the last quarter.

Visentini. Did not see him at all. Someone else probably knows what happened there.

Jones must have been on restricted minutes. Did not notice him in the last quarter.

Guelfi. Was trying to give away more free kicks than he had possessions.

Unwin. Very quiet game back from injury.

El_Hawli. Though he was solid with his defensive stuff. Okay game playing deep in defence from what I saw.

McMahon. 2 goals from not a lot of opportunity. If he cannot get on the lead and mark, he is not really effective.

Poor skills opened us up to the rebound.

So you watched for about 10mins and into guelf , you suffer from GDS

He was poor. If he is good, I would call it. He was not and it was all the second half.
Have loved what he has given us, but he looks done. Sometimes injuries catch up with players.
You suffer from rose coloured glasses with a set of blinkers.

I watched about 20mins and wasn’t what I was hoping to see , looked a little uninterested but who could blame him , if your not very young with some signs of promise your not getting a game , kako straight back in is a puzzle , why didn’t he play at least a quarter or two last week in the vfl , he’s not that good yet , I think maybe I’m not the only one wearing rose coloured glasses

No. In a rebuild you play the young guys. Scott has been criticized by our supporters for not playing the young guys in the past.
Sucks for Guelfi but Kako is going to be around for the future. Guelfi is not.
Kako has been very good this preseason right up until he got injured. He has been one of the better performers. Sometimes you need to know what is going on in the background.

was watching some of this game on my phone with the Crows/Bulldogs game on the TV.

It’s fair to say nobody in this VFL game looked like they could make an impact in the 4th quarter of that AFL game.

There’s levels to this stuff and we’re a long way off the pace. Especially in effort and determination.

Immediate post game reaction before looking at FT stats:

#2 Jacob Farrow: Was aggressive and used the ball well for the most part but struggled defensively a bit. He's gonna be a player though.

#5 Elijah Tsatas: Was busy inside and used his hands to get out of stoppage well, but seemed less prolific than usual. Stuck a few good tackles though.

#9 Sullivan Robey: Had some good moments in the mids, looks to be strong over the ball. Think he needs more time in the VFL to get up to speed though.

#13 Nik Cox: Honestly apart from one good mark in the third I barely saw him.

#17 Vigo Visentini: Played well, but went off injured early. Not sure with what.

#19 Kayle Gerreyn: Had some good moments and some bad ones. His athleticism is good but his decision making...

#23 Harrison Jones: Frustrating game. Had a couple of really good moments but didn't exert himself enough for me.

#35 Matt Guelfi: Gave away frees too much. Lost his zip.

#38 Rhys Unwin: Didn't get much but used it well and was creative with it.

#41 Saad El-Hawli: Was quick and used it well but gets caught out defensively as well, needs to improve quickly.

#44 Archer Day-Wicks: Probably my favourite for the night. Took aggressive kicks and moved up and down the ground well. Had midfield minutes too.

#48 Liam McMahon: Good first quarter. Went missing after that.

I liked Hately, Ferronato, XON and Nyko of the VFL group. Bella was decent.

I watched from near the end of the first quarter to about the end of the 3rd quarter. Honestly if you were hoping to hear how our guys were knocking down the door - well I didn't see it. So sorry if there aren't a lot of positives...

Farrow's stats look really good but he was taking kick-in's and they sure had a lot of shots on goal which did inflate things a little. That said he definitely can roost a long ball. He'll be in contention with Kondo and Johnson for spots.

Robey - didn't do that much that I saw but boy is he an imposing figure. Its exciting to think about someone with pace and that build playing up forward outbodying the smaller/medium defenders and being too quick for the key defenders.

If i was to summarise everyone else - none of them could kick (except El Hawli) and our defense looked like the seniors game vs Hawthorn. Its also really obvious that we do not bat deep in key defenders or small forwards and lack leg speed (ie all the stuff we already know just being echoed at the lower level).

Tsatas is especially painful to watch. Even though I saw him do a few good things, pouncing on some ground balls, some good defensive pressure the problem is he immediately undoes anything good he does by turning it over or bombing it in aimlessly. I can't see it with him. He just doesn't strike me as a level above VFL.

Cox - no idea what role we envision him playing at AFL level. He runs around on a wing, struggles when the ball hits the deck and can't take advantage of his height in marking contests. So other than having good endurance I'm not really sure what he's doing.

Jones - is much like Cox - but better in that he occasionally kicks some goals and will take some marks. Doesn't seem to have enough pace off the mark though or enough smarts to deal with AFL defenders on his hammer though.

Guelfi - looks so slow now. I think the game has passed him by. It was a bit jarring to watch honestly. I never minded Guelfi and though he was more than handy a few years ago.

If you love Guelfi so much, you can have him
