Looking through the FWD options... Anyone considering the wizard???

I know he's on the bye but for next week:
BE 26. 650k price. avg of 84. Rnd 14 bye
Being used through the mid and up the ground more this year.
If he maintains an 80-85 avg he will be a decent play imo

You know better than me, but I'll pass, seems still too erratic Fantasy wise for my liking.

From yours, I like the look of Connor Macdonald more.

Sunk cost fallacy.

Circumstances have changed in relation to Petracca. You're not alone (ITT) with your line of thinking, but you'd be better off acknowledging and addressing it this week.

It's not about the sunk cost - I'm not saying "I may as well hold him through his injury" I'm saying I was already without him this week, and next week gives me more options to move him to.

So turns out in order to field 22 this week I need two defenders.

Can't pass up Zorko, so there is one.

Second trade has $890k to play with, the question is do I settle for someone like a Tom McCarty or go early on someone like Colby McKercher - or do I go down to a rookie and bank some cash to upgrade Caleb Windsor to a true premium next week? And if so, who in the $500k or below range is worth bringing in in defence, has anyone spotted someone?

Also, crazy but Xavier Lindsay is likely to be riding the pine for me this week.

Midfield of Dawson, Naicos, Butters, Caldwell, Bruhn, Jagga Smith and one of the following three: X. Lindsay, Blamires and the goat Milan Murdock. I don't have a midfielder on the Bye so won't even be able to loop, so likely will just need to go Murdock straight up over Xavier Lindsay.

I know what you're saying. It's still a sunk cost fallacy. He was to return after his bye unimpeded, now that's not the case. If Butters goes down this week with a similar injury are you holding his $1m value on the bench? There's no iteration of alternative trades elsewhere on the field that supersedes the downside of $1m parked on the bench for a week. And that's without acknowledging the non zero chance of further injuries occuring across the comp in Rd 3.

But then you're suggesting you were always going to move him on his bye? As the 1m would have been parked there if he was fit?

It's best 18 over the byes, we all have multiple $1m+ assets parked on the bench each week at the moment.

IF Butters goes down this week, THEN I move Trac and Butters next week with an extra cohort of premiums off their bye and viable. If you move Trac this week you're basically only going to Miers surely?

Feel like a Watkins is a must have with Rozee out, I think he holds his spot for a while even with Wines back in.
Could be.

But can they play Drew Wines and Watkins in the same side?

Brodie is circling too for a run.

Im going to flip back and forth all week on this. Currently Im trading Watkins in.

A farrow debut has to be considered likely this week.

Could be a toss up between last chance on Watkins or go early on Farrow.

Usually Id say Watkins but it will mean I have 22 playing if I go Farrow.

In the bye player scenario, the asset is returning after one week and is superior to options available (at least in the team manager's opinion). I'll grant you there's scant options on offer as a 'true' replacement (which is unlike the Rozee situation).

I'm likely going Reid (and Short) after thinking further on the matter, leaving me $475k ITB. Which perhaps means the truth is somewhere in the middle? I'd prefer the cash in the bank over the injured player on the pine, as it provides far more flexibility in trades the following week under any eventuality than having Petracca as a certain to fix up a week after his injury. None of the meagre forward players coming off the Rd 3 bye justify waiting a week.

I'll be deliriously happy if a large percentage of the comp decide to hold Petracca.

This is I guess where my thinking on resting him this week is. The cohort of replacements next week are superior to the options this week, so in that sense it's using the same logic.

Rozee I definitely agree you move on this week, especially as he was selected as a non-Bye player so doesn't have the same utility in that sense.

I think I'd rather people trade Petracca this week, as there is a large chance they are going for a speculative mid-pricer like a Bolton who will have some absolutely spud scores.

One thing's for sure, it provides for genuine differentiation on thinking, which is great for the 'chaos is a ladder' purists of the game.

I really want to go on Bolton, is that madness?

Rozee's price drop means I now can't do both him and Blakiston to Jaicos & Short, which is a disaster.
Could now keep Blakiston and fix Trac, or upgrade Windy. Or kick the can down the road and do a rookie fix up, but not sure who's worth it now with Watkins probably now having had his biggest rise

Man there's too many different ways to go this week, ideally I'd be able to get rid of one of Milera, Windsor, Blakiston or Parish, but Rozee and Petracca getting injured makes that difficult, Petracca could easily stay a week but that may make things harder if someone else goes down next week.

I've got 753k in the bank, Rozee is the only lock in my trades so far, I'm torn. Zorko seems to be the obvious choice but Ash and Daicos are both potential choices too.

I think just doing a straight swap of Rozee/Petracca to Zorko/Miers may be the go though, it leaves me with 622k in the bank so I can still upgrade my cloggers I listed above next week.

Is Fantasy Coach worth subscribing to?
I subscribed because i wanted live BEs as soon as lockout lifted for my rage trades rather than waiting a bit for the other webs to update. Also its very easy and nice to see what players you have on the by and plus what the top 1% and 5% onwerships are like. Pretty worth it for like $20 imo

It's convenient being able to access stats directly on sites but sites like Footywire will have breakevens at least

Yeah I may just cough up the $20 once the free trial is done, seems like a pretty handy tool.

omg who started the Bolton chatter because putting this idea into my head has made me MAD. why am I even entertaining it?!

he got 4 * as many CBAs this week compared to round 1 as Youngys out AND this week is against Richmond. Which is a twofold positive factor for Shai because he's a bit of a show pony and its his old side.

I'd say you're better off going for 2 x good players with your $2mil (Short, Jaicos, or one of the bye having GWS/Stk guys) rather than Zorko + a risky guy.

Played well on the weekend in a big win. Probably have to pick him if he’s named with Wines.

Surely bombers are a must avoid team
