This is a competition for BF posters to a) vote for the real Devils B&F as judged by us throughout 2026, and b) the tipster who gets closest to tipping the winner-R/up-3rd at season's end gets a prize. This is my first action of this type, so there might be a couple of things that could be fine tuned - feel free to make suggestions. I'll find out what the prize can be soon!

Rules (anything marked with (***) can be group consensus discussion, and we'll settle it all before Round 4):
1) Each poster nominates 3-2-1 for each game, Devils players only.
2) By the start of Game 4 (Round 5 Anzac Day v Carlton), each poster has given their tip for who they think will finish 3-2-1 (time to get latecomers, plus we've already seen one match). That is your entry to be eligible for the prize. Anyone later is welcome to vote at any time (***), but the eligible winners need to have nominated their Season champion and placegetters before Round 4.
3) The winner of the comp is the poster who is closest to tipping the 3-2-1 in finishing order...exact methodology for that still buzzing in my head (***).
4) The number of votes each week is added, and for each player the total score is divided by the number of people who tipped that round (an average). So if a player gets 12 votes spread across 8 tipsters, the score for that player that week is 1.5.
5) However, it's 3-2-1 each week - so if the top 5 players got in order 2.86, 2.5, 2.1, 1.8 and 1.5, those first 3 players are the 3-2-1, and that's the votes as entered for the comp, just like the Brownlow - the guy who got 2.86 gets 3 votes, the 2.5 guy gets 2 votes, etc...
6) Brownlow rules as far as countback etc goes....most 3 vote games. We can have joint winners as a result - if you can tip that you deserve the trophy straight away!
6a) Do you want tiebreakers added (***)?
6b) Do you want suspended players ineligible...? (***)
7) To get 3-2-1 each week, if two players got the same average, the tiebreaker could be the AFL fantasy score as published on the AFL site? (***). e.g. Player 1 gets 2.86, P2 gets 2.5, P3 gets 1.86 and P4 gets 1.86 as well...P3 got 85 points on Dream Team and P4 got 84, so P3 gets the 1 vote.

Each week's votes due before the next match, but to get things sorted properly, Round 1 and Round 2 are due before the start of the Round 3 Frankston game. After that, each round of votes is due before the next match (you get a couple of weeks to contemplate when there's a bye!). Post on the thread.

Ok, me first:
Round 1 v Coburg:
J.Hagan – 3
Z.Adams – 2
M.Roney – 1

Good idea. Hard because it was an even team effort, not a lot of stars but lots doing a job for the team.

3 - Jed Hagan dangerous wherever he was, kicked goals and pressure was great
2 - Nick Williams shut down Stephenson and intercepted
1 - Hugh Dixon focal point who converted, 4 goals in a tight game huge

Hon mention Adams, Roney, Callinan, Cox-Goodyer

Gibbo Round 2 v Port:

Round 1-2 so far. Does this look like a system everyone can live with? Updated to include Redman, just waiting on DYK and anyone else who wants to swan in. Open until the bounce v Frankston...

Can't access for some reason, got an Oops message. What were the tips again?

My 3, 2, 1:

3: Jed Hagan.
2: Hugh Dixon.
1: Chaplin. (Joe?)

Payne, Artemis and Siggins HM’s.

Round 3:

Sooo hard to pick only 3!!

3. Wright
2. Fox
1. Hay

I tried to reward the cleanest players. Fox was super important on a day where many were turning the ball over. Wright was a rock, and Hay kicked 4 and did some nice creative plays. What a debut!

Hard to leave out Siggins, Menzie and Hagan among others.

Nah - do put in a vote!

The SEN broadcast and the AFL.com Fantasy points were wildly different, put it that way. The commentators had BCG and Menzie as 3-2, and couldn't split Mapley and Siggins. But while Menzie dominated the AFL points, 50 clear of the next best which included Hagan and BCG, the unsplitable pair above hardly registered a blip and BCG was statistically one of a bundle no one has mentioned anywhere. Same with Lachy Hay, whose score was small but he got his own highlights package on AFL.com! So the numbers, the vibe...throw your own in, because no one said any of this had to be predictable...footy science is wanky at best...!

Anzac Day is Game 4 - your forecast for the season is due by the bounce! You can even change your mind about the 3-2-1 for Round 3, none of it locked in until then...it's not official until you see that cut and paste scoreboard...

Me - Fox 3, Menzie 2 and BCG 1. Menzie by the sheer numbers and BCG is kinda my guy, champion northerner and I've always been hoping he'd star in this! Fox though - ended up in the top 10 for Fantasy at the bottom of the pack, but his contested possession count v unc. was 14-7, by far the most lopsided, and he did it all with 95% efficiency...at a critical stage in the match, Fox led the way in demoralising Frankston and enabling his team to break them in half...
