Well, hard to fault our effort. Not particularly disappointed in this loss, all things being even we easily could have pinched it. Which is not a bad result for a young team against the advantaged premiers. Aside from a messy first quarter all-around we look to be getting into our groove after a sloppy first few weeks.
Losing Sharman to a concussion stung, as he was finally looking back to his dangerous best. Thankfully we have a convenient bye, so hopefully he can recover well and is right to go for our next match.

We seem to have developed a more physical edge which I like. Would not like to have Ryan flying at me...

Butler and Dougal did some good things on their long awaited returns, if they can continue to lift and cement a spot we will be better for it. Caminiti might have to come back as a forward depending on the availability and form of King and Dougal - he is good enough and I feel we still need another tall target forward. Tauru is going to tear a game apart one of these days, he just looks to have that spark.

So, a Bye this week and then we're back on Sunday, April 12 to face port in Adelaide. Hope for a better run then!

Imagine tying up 1.7 in TDK.

1 mil in SOS

SOS needs to go.
Silvagni has been one of our best players so far this year. Defensively he’s exceptional.

And as much as I was extremely opposed to getting TDK, Nas might not have stayed had we not been able to tell him we were getting TDK and others in, and Ro would get obliterated by the jumping rucks this year and beyond had we not gotten Tom.

Love the positivity! Hope I’ll be in that frame of mind later. Although there are some good signs, the lack of composure and legs in the last seem to cost us.

This team is ridiculously unfit. I dont understand why we look this knackered by the 4th quarter every game in comparison to every other team? Especially with all the fluff pieces put out about our "running work". Collingwood, then GWS and now Brisbane again.

Also, im sick of the amount of one-note players we have. Garcia, Phillipou and Windy dont really offer anything at all around the ground

Argh, we are all disappointed / pussed off / angry. You are right, it’s not that bad. But it’s frustrating.

Valiant effort early but wasteful in front of goal and just ran out of juice in the last and they showed their class. Our midfield was really outmatched today against a team missing arguably their best mid which is a worry. Phillipou just isn’t cutting it at the moment and Flanders decision making when under pressure can be questionable. Would like to see him play a bit more at half back and distribute the ball by foot. We really need King to provide a target up forward because Marshall clearly isn’t working, in hindsight we probably should have traded him but I was big on keeping him so not much you can do there. I also think Tauru lacks forward craft and is a defender. Disappointing for Sharman as he was playing much better today.

Hopefully we can regroup and come back better and a bit more polished after the bye and maybe mix up the midfield a little bit.

What do you mean by “one-note”?

The Brisbane players are arrogant.

The Brisbane supporters are arrogant.

That comes with success of course.

Elite talent all over the ground. Drafted; traded; gifted.

Their coach can shove it up hid ar$e.

Good effort Sainters.

only caught the last quarter, didn't look too bad, they had a bit more run, a bit cleaner, we had our chances but couldn't finish, also bombing it on higgo's head is not the play despite how much we are trying to make it a thing.. remember when we had riewoldt?
I watched Tim Membrey dominate GWS last night looking every bit as good as he did for us.
We seriously couldnt have given him another year? ****ing joke

Ro is slowing down. Not a great forward either besides providing height.
Not the player he was.
Dodson is not ready.
Tdk will have to be the man - needs to get some synchronicity with his mids. It will come.
Tauru needs to continue playing forward.

I got TDK wrong. Thought he would be a star with the new ruck rules and we were getting him for his prime years.

He's just an average ruckman at this point.

Also, what is the point of Marshall? Has been putrid every game.

Think everyone’s overreacting in the game day thread. Footy is a game of moments and for a young team that’s still gelling playing the reigning dual premiers, who clearly came to play.

If they allowed Taurus pass to Wood when he took that hanger. That ended up being a 12 point difference as they scored the other way. In time Tauru Kicks that, or the Umps don’t dog us they allow the clear goal. Then allow the injured player off the ground once play is resetting with less pressure and we have the momentum. Anywayyy

In the last when NAS went for that run if either Tauru or Wood again let the other jump at it, either marks it and if kick truly we are in this game upto our ears.

We now have a true punisher in Flyin Ryan, 50 / 50 bump vs Gardiner who’s about 20 Kegs heavier and look what happened. They tried to bash us up early and it worked in our favour so they decided to open the game up. We will learn.
Silvagni was good.
Tauru is a forward.
Dougal and Hammer are the same player.
Hastie in for Carrol. I hope they are making Angus hungry because he’s clearly a better player than Carrol.
Marshals like a dear in headlights.

Once again we all wanted the win. We really could have got this one. Disappointing we let them run away with it. I think we’re on the right track.

Considering our effort for 3 qtrs that last qtr was incredibly disappointing.
Silvagni is solid but his disposal by feet has me holding my breath every kick.
Tauru needs to remain a forward. End of.
Missed our chances early which puts them under scoreboard pressure, and probably gets us over the line.
The myth that we are a fit team is laid bare for all to see.
So frustrating.

well ive worked out one thing,we do not posess the skill ability or anything else to pass the ball into our forward line,JUST GO FOR GOAL EVERY TIME and let it be a contest if it falls short,EVERY FXCKEN TIME it goes to an oppo player

vs port adelaide next i swear the first pass into the forward line that gets marked by a port player im just gonna turn it off,how we havent worked out that we just dont have the capability to hit a saints jumper by now is baffling

next goal for philippou is to tackle and get his hands dirty, one brad hill is enough out there

other than the above we were ok,but the above is totally killing us,boot the fxcken thing, stop trying to pass into the forward 50

Good pressure, not so good execution. Familiar story.

Brisbane went to another gear halfway through the 4th.

Frustrating to lose by 33 but for 85% of the game neck-and-neck with the back-to-back premiers. Feels like we're in decent shape for a team who's 1-3.

Can’t believe we have 1.6 tied to TDK.

1 mill in JSOS.

I don’t care if we had the money to spend.

That was straight malpractice. Our ruck situation is gone. I love Roma but we threw him under the bus and should have let him go. New interchange rules or not. Two main rucks don’t work.

silvagni has been decent but ultimately made not much difference.

I don’t agree rd TDK and Naz relationship. Naz stayed due to his best season ever with Ro as ruck.

Sos has brought in Carlton rejects he fell in love with at the draft. The same thing he did at giants. We lack a unified at culture edge/identity due to constant bringing in of other peoples ok players. Look at Flanders.
