If you think about it , eagles get neale end of this year , the chad the next and another high draft pick or 2 this year - ideally drafting a good kpd they could realistically be challenging for a finals spot a lot sooner than everyone thought.

Not even close to it.

Their entire gameplan right now is pressure and tackling. High contest games. Which makes it more level when playing poor skilled teams at the lower end of the ladder like North, Port etc. When they come up against a decent top 10 team they will still lose big because their skills aren't up to par.

They will win more games with this gameplan while they are rebuilding, but they are still at least 5 years away from actually competing again.

It would be some start to Carr's coaching career if he managed to lose 2 of his first 3 games to North and the eagles.

Couldn't have asked for a softer start either to get North/Ess/eagles for your first three.

Nah, their best players are too young and will tire, particularly as this better form is really based on pressure and work rate. Cant see them getting to the 13th personally

Port are really bad but yeah, WC finally have some talent to build around and Mini has gotten a lot of buy in. Looks like they are now going to be competitive most weeks

If youre an Eagles fan you just want to see them competitive without winning too many games. Another draft haul would really help.

West Coast have been on top since 5 mins into Q2, there's no way they lose this now.

They've got got some real exciting talent coming through and playing with the youthful resurgence, as much as people don't want to hear this it's very good for the game.

No good having soulless franchises sitting up the top of the table with 22 first rounders in the team while AFL heartland teams struggle at the bottom

Might be an interesting game in 3 weeks

Have always said pick the best available forward ahead of midfielder.
West Coast have benefited hugely from drafting forwards.
Shannahan and Duff-Tytler.
Midfield is the most overrated position in the league IMO
