I always thought Easter Monday always hit 80,000 at the very least but I was wrong. This is from 2025;

Apr 14, 2025

...The Hawthorn and Geelong clash to close the Easter round has been a part of the fixture since 2010, when the Hawks and Cats rivalry was at fever pitch following the 2008 Grand Final.

There has been only one of the 14 clashes to surpass a crowd of 80,000, when 80,222 fans packed in the venue in 2014, when the Hawks went on to win the second of three successive flags and the Cats made the semi-final.

There have been seven games of more than 70,000 fans at the Easter Monday fixture, with the lowest coming on a rain-drenched day in 2022, when only 48,030 supporters attended the game.

The second highest game came in 2011, when the match was played a day later on Easter Tuesday as Anzac Day had fallen on Easter Monday and the AFL separated its blockbuster contests...

Wiltshire will most likely go back after today, so would be nice to see him get a goal for effort.
Shannon needs a big one after last week, Cameron firing would be good too.
I'm aware of their chop outs in ruck and wing, but more needed from them.
Go the mighty Cats.

I've seen it suggested a few times during the week

With both teams up & about, I can see them wanting 80k, but those numbers will come down to how many MCC &
AFL members show up to fill their sections

I'll be glad not to have to watch the Foxtel "Kennett's Curse" package after today any more.

Still pushing the narrative that, in the end, Hawthorn got the job done on the way to a premiership whereas we didn't. 2011 anyone ... anyone? Sigh. Why can't really nice things happen to us, instead of just nice things? Is perfect redemption and Brisbanesque blessedness too much to ask?
Honestly feel it's been done to death, what matters is the past 10 years of this rivalry where we are struggling big time. Work out a way to beat you blokes in the current era is really all we are talking about as supporters. The media is the media who are always looking for the narrative to drum up the hype even more.
