I think there can be a difference between thinking Hall is a future star and also simply disputing that he’s an outside seagull.

Lot of digital ink spilled over Clay Hall who surely isn’t coming in anyway after a middling WAFL performance by reports.

Hope he rips it up in the WAFL this week and we can have this conversation in earnest next week.

I think it's unlikely he will, I'm also aware of the type of game he plays which seemingly has eluded you.

I think the problem for Hall and Gross for that matter is with Robertson arriving at the club their spots in the best 23 has become tenuous. I don't think we ever want to see a midfield mix of those 3 in at any one time. We would get brutally exposed. All 3 lack explosive power and pace and Roberston at this stage is a fair way in front of Hall and Gross as an overall player. We can only ever really afford to have 1 of these 3 playing as inside mids at any one time.

Its the problem with people just looking at stats.

On paper Halls game last week looks great but in reality it was really, really bad.

Im not sure if they track DE% in wafl? would have to be low.

Maybe track "flourbag %"

Went down to training today. They had match sim during the session. Hewett and bailey williams in the A team. Flynn didnt train though. Owies champion and archer reid in the B team.

I'd say the changes this week are hewett and robertson for owies and champion. Bailey williams potentially for flynn or reid.

I'd love Yeo and Murdock to be in, but sounds like they'll be next week.

There's no need to rush Yeo, as much as I'd like him, given his history.

Robertson for Owies seems straight forward although given our young list it might be Champion who misses out. Not my preference but something I can see them doing

Is this the week they give up on Flynn? If B-Will is properly match fit then he has to be a consideration. Alternatively, since Geelong are running with the inexperienced Edwards as their lead ruck, we could go left field and run with CDT and Archer to see what it looks like. Doubt they do it though - it would give us the opportunity to play another runner to replace Flynn which would be handy

Then it’s a question of whether we bring in one, or both, of Hewett and Yeo. Hewett sounds like he’s still short of match fitness from WAFL reports but McQ seemed upbeat about his chances of a return when asked on CH7. Will leave it to the medicos to determine if Yeo is properly fit but surely they only clear him if he’s 100%

We can arguably afford to play one, but not both - Champion or Owies would then make way
