A very inauspicious start.

I've given him the benefit of the doubt since he joined, so my sense of pride prohibits me from stopping now.

Keen to see him play a great deal better at Marvel against the Tigers.
Why? He really shouldn't be given the opportunity to beat up on the Tiges. He's better than what he's showing though, stick him on a back flank maybe.

I dont think its puppy fat. I think its the way his genuinely built and what his body as matured into. I seen him with his shirt off at Arden in yesterdays main session and he doesn’t have much loose skin
I watched him closely today - he’s got a beer gut. End of story.

You just can’t polish that turd.

Was never interested in Spargo and didn't know why we did and it shows but it was only his first game with our lot so we will see if he improves. Don't want to judge him too much yet. In terms of small fwds my preference is:

Banch (this guy should not be dropped again)
Harvey
Dovaston (at this stage...prob will be at the top of list in a few years (hopefully))
Spargo
Kostanty

They are however slightly different roles & players but in terms of preference I have it as that.

He has never been a physical or intense player.
Always been one paced and somewhat creative type by foot. The thing is, the game has gone past those types and exact reason why we got rid of Lazzaro, Mahony and why we sent Cooper Harvey to half back.

His recruitment made absolutely no sense whatsoever and 3 years for a bloke who was obviously on the decline makes it even more suspect.

But we need to keep playing him to prove picking him up was a good idea.

wiwas dog shit but will give him some time heck me doesnt he have 3 years or is it 4
He doesn't need time. Anyone watching him at Melbourne last year could see what he'd bring. I'd love to know what substances were in our system when we went after him

I spose one positive is he’s elevated himself to such a dominant whipping boy status that there can really only be one whipping boy. Him.

Team player of a kind I guess.

Plenty of room in the Spargo Tarago I see

I was hoping to be optimistic .... his stat history suggests that he'd peaked in 2022. He'll be 27 in November, with a career languishing through the effects of injury, the speed of the game and his own limitations. Should be playing up on the Murray.

I would like to know the next 3-4 considerations we had if the Spargo deal did not go through.

If he was underdone( as he was clearly yesterday), then he should have told the coaches not to pick him and wait till he has further miles in the legs. Dumb on many levels.

Just should not have been picked on 1 reasonably good vfl match. It wasn't like he tore the game apart either. Iirc he had something like 17 touches, so it wasn't like he was banging the door down. 11 Senior games in 2 years, coming back from achilles and shoulder .... think we bought a lemon.

Do we think that far ahead??
