Also, don't trade your premos unless named Noah frickin Anderson
Generally agree, happy to stand corrected over the next 5

I might not be able to field 22 next week already. Think Roberts is almost definitely off the table as I need fwds

Xerri (who I havent been able to get of), Zorko, Dev, Budarick, potentially Butters (though I think he'll be fine). Whole week to get through with no more
Held Xerri as well - he owes us!

If anyone has Watkins he got forward status - might help some people with trades given the fwd line injuries

Butters seems confident theres nothing in the umpire report

Interesting situation.

Despite what some people might say, umpires actually have pretty thick skin, and cop a lot from players. You don’t have to be a great lip reader to know that.

So clearly the umpire heard something that was way over the line. Whether Zak actually said what he heard, or the umpire misheard him, who knows. It is odd that Butters wouldn’t come out and just say what he said to clear up any conjecture.

My guess is he said something like “cheat” but that’s pure speculation.

One time, an ump paid a free kick against Jordan Clark after he swore at himself for making an error, because they deemed it as umpire abuse.

There was a period where they were very hard on demonstrative behaviour against umpires, and seemingly any back chat resulted in a free kick. However, they've become much more lenient, and umpire abuse has become a lot more pronounced recently. You're seeing players giving umpires an earful quire regularly.

I think the AFL should try to push back against that, not as much as they did before, but to try to make it clear to players that it's not okay to go off their head at the official because it's definitely not a good look. It should be a clear directive, though, and then consistently implemented, not just randomly pulled out as a report on a whim.

Apparently Butters said, "**** you, Foot.", though he was actually addressing his own foot after a missed kick.

The AFL has come under fire after allowing veteran field umpire Nick Foot to be on the payroll of the league's gambling partner, Sportsbet.

Foot, who umpired last year's grand final, will feature on Sportsbet's racing show, Get On, which also appears on Racing.com.

And while it has the football world up in arms, the league has ticked off the controversial role in 2025.

The AFL declared that because the role has nothing to do with his job on field, they were happy to give Foot approval.

Does everyone talk with a lisp in Saints games or something, twice in a couple weeks this has happened 😂

This one went the Saints way

AAAH I feel like I REALLY NEED Farrow even at this price

I also REALLY NEED a forward because my options to replace Dev include Lombard and Steene.

I also REALLY NEED Anderson in my side

I also REALLY NEED Roberts

I also REALLY NEED Heeney

I also REALLY NEED my new F1 Bailey Williams

One time, an ump paid a free kick against Jordan Clark after he swore at himself for making an error, because they deemed it as umpire abuse.

That was at the time where they were cracking down on it, and it’s a so what understandable mistake that in that context an umpire would misunderstand Clark.

One of the reasons that they stopped being so strict on umpire abuse was because a lot of the senior umpires said they didn’t like it and preferred to let it go and talk to the players more.

This is a somewhat unprecedented situation, a 50m penalty is fairly standard, I can’t think of a time where an umpire went to the step of reporting a player.

There was a period where they were very hard on demonstrative behaviour against umpires, and seemingly any back chat resulted in a free kick. That’s the part that makes me think the umpire has obviously heard something pretty bad. Paying a 50m is pretty normal, reporting players is not.

Surely Butters wasn’t dumb enough to pull out the green maggot line after this week 😂

Is it the same umpire?

If Butters made reference to that then Foot would only have himself to blame IMO.
