Appreciate that, incredible era to work throughthese are fantastic
Appreciate that that’s exactly what I was aiming for.The work you have done is brilliant. Genuinely look like original colour picks.
Fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

We also lost Grand Finals in 1925-1926 and 1937-1939. 11 Grand Finals in 15 seasons. Insane timesGreat find! The side from 1927-30 is the GOAT and never will be topped
We also won back-to-back in 1935-36 so that is 6 flags in 9 years. Amazing era for us the late 1920s-early 1930s
Yeah definitely possible I’ve had a bit of a play around with some retro-style concepts as well — but have mainly tried to keep these ones true to the eraWould it be possible to put any of these on a Scanlens 1970/80s style footy card like some media do with modern photos?
Really 1902-1939 is a golden era.We also lost Grand Finals in 1925-1926 and 1937-1939. 11 Grand Finals in 15 seasons. Insane times
yet not one player from that period good enough to be in the team of the centuryReally 1902-1939 is a golden era.
11 flags in 38 seasons.
24 grand finals in 38 seasons.
33 finals appearances in 38 seasons.
The all time leading goalkicker at the time and the most successful premiership coach excluded.yet not one player from that period good enough to be in the team of the century
and held it for over 60 years, just disgustingThe all time leading goalkicker at the time and the most successful premiership coach excluded.
Norm Smith had one fantastic period, where he was enormously successful, but Jock McHale really had three very successful periods where he won premierships, and went close plenty more times. Picking the coach for the TotC should have been an easy decision. Norm Smith is an absolute legend of the game, but he's not the coach they should have named (or had the Grand Final BOG named after)! The all time leading goalkicker at the time and the most successful premiership coach excluded.
And the only player prior to the mid-70s to crack 1000 goals (Titus obviously came close). He was playing a different game to his contemporariesThe all time leading goalkicker at the time and the most successful premiership coach excluded.
While that does sound good, it was 6 flags in 10 seasons (1927-36, with the four 'wasted' years)!Great find! The side from 1927-30 is the GOAT and never will be topped
We also won back-to-back in 1935-36 so that is 6 flags in 9 years. Amazing era for us the late 1920s-early 1930s
Hard to argue with what that group achieved such an incredible era for the clubThe all time leading goalkicker at the time and the most successful premiership coach excluded.
Absolutely fantastic, well done.I’ve been working on restoring and colourising a series of Collingwood images from the 1927–1930 “Machine” era.
Thought I’d share a couple here.
It’s been interesting bringing this period back to life, especially given how dominant that side was.
Happy to share more if people are interested.
