One player was sick and didn't play. Not sure why would have travelled BTW. There is no evidence at this stage the rest were sick.
This shows a lack of respect to Melbourne who kept at their game plan all day. Kept running and kicked straight mostly, which won them the game. They deserved to win.

At the game and Zac Bailey is a flipping sook, wasn’t interested at any point. Disgraceful effort all day, moping around 5 meters behind his opponent. Someone wants to pay him 1.5 good luck. That free kick against McCluggage was a joke- maggots love having their say.

Votes to Logan, Charlie, Andrews and Gallop

Draper unlucky

Our 4 A graders on ballers let us down and Zac Bailey was pathetic

Draper’s beautiful 20m hit out right to Pickett to set up Van Rooyen the highlight of the game.

Not sure what we do next week if we're missing Berry, Reville and Answerth

I guess Brain is our only option as a defender but Beecken might be preferred for his pace

Marshall and Tunstill might get back in

We looked physically spent in that game.
I wonder if all of the travel in the first third of the season is taking its toll.
If one player is sick enough to be withdrawn, there is probably a good chance a chunk of the team is dealing with less severe illness.

Have you ever wondered what the antonym of a Mason Cox is?

The umpiring obviously favoured Melbourne but it wasn't the reason we lost. You watch that game and we were just second rate for far too long.

Pretty disappointing that we were so flat for Choc & Dunks big game, would love to see our W/L ratio in 200/300 games for the club, I have a feeling it's not great.

As per usual in the H&A season we just have an innate ability to stay in cruise control and it costs us in far too many games, especially against the lesser teams.

Way too sloppy with the ball today, Demons for most of the day ran harder both ways and wanted it more.

Saying that we could of snatched it in the end, big pretty regulation set shots missed by Dunks and Clugga in the last were telling.

We have too many players down on form, need to turn it around next week against the Crows at home.

My memory for games or a string of games from the past are hard for me to recall, IIRC start of the season win/loss is relatively similar to 2024-25.... what does everyone think re comparing it to this seasons start team form wise?

Been a tough Schedule with plenty of injuries.

3 and 3 isn't disastrous.

We were a bit off today and losing Berry early really hurt us.

Plenty of time left in this season.

That was clearly a free kick for a block

Clearly wasn’t even in the top 10 players on Lions team today. I guess he competed okay though so probably a sympathy vote from the resident troll.

Did well to only go down by 2pts

Deserved what we got. Second to the ball and tried to overcompensate with aggressiveness at times.

Few that weren’t paid for us but overall we played that badly that we deserved to get screwed by umpiring.

Agree , we didn’t have that extra burst like we usually have .

Melbourne are a good side but there are 7 other teams this year better than them. A bit concerning other contender teams found a way to win their close games this round while we couldn't close it in the end.
