Alright you lot I've finished watching the second half again so I'm going to bed.

If you're gonna act like a bunch of 11 year olds do it properly so we can ban you for a day and make it easier for everyone.

How's the constant bagging out of JLO and the players going? You really look like a goose
Did you even understand the assignment?

Wow, that was something. Epic. That image of my buddy, JL, post Bolton’s goal, with a grin whilst chugging Pepsi Max, felt small “i” iconic. Something in the moment took me back to Ross in the Subi dugout v Richmond, flipping magnets around in 2012, when he put Zac Dawson in the ruck in a game changing move.

I hope that all children of the purple can enjoy this win over the weekend and into the week, no matter your views on the coach. A prescient conclusion that I have been confronted with recently, is that life is too short to fight with family.

Now, a guilty post-game pleasure of mine in the past, was checking in on this thread for, I believe, Freogirl’s innuendo laden media after a win.

The post-game itinerary once would have and still somewhat resembles (aside from the lack of JLo smut being produced currently): get kid to bed, nip out for another 4/6 pack of suds, check WCE melts over win in their non-WCE thread, tick the JLo lust procession, smile, then rewatch the game.

So here’s to you J-Lo (and Freogirl) Thanks for the W, chief. Dim the lights; let’s get this party started.

I have previously been critical of JLo's in game tactical responsiveness but his QT adjustment was spot on this week. Saw the dogs were keeping a spare back and got the team playing a more kick mark style. He used the rev up well. Think the tactical adjustment on Bont worked well enough. Didn't tag but did make sure he had a direct match up who he either needed to keep an eye on (Bolton) or was accountable (Brayshaw). Turned a potentially math winning performance into merely a very good one.

Regarding the first quarter I think the Bullies played a lot faster than they have so far this year and kudos to them for executing a different game plan well. Equally good that JLo didn't make panic changes but rolled out a smart solution.

It's MadEyeEmmy that does that.

Jlo is a man and gets played every day by you regardless of the win. Gets a bit tiring when it was a classic win on a Friday night in front of the Footy world.
Poor JLo, I doubt the bloke cares one bit what a bunch of random fans say on the internet. Guys on 1 million a year, he’ll be fine.
I express an opinion about his coaching, nothing more.

I’m curious. In the match thread the usual suspects were piling on that JL is squandering the talent of one of the best lists in the competition so now that we won does he get any credit?

7-1 off 3 x short breaks and top of the ladder.

I mean does he deserve any credit?

Listening to his press conference, he compared the Bulldogs games today to Melbourne or St Kilda last year.

We got smashed early, were able to adjust and get on top. Hopefully our season is similar to last year, and we find some form in the back end of year. and until then, we can just scrape by the wins.

I mean that is the dream, replace that early crap run last year with this and we're finishing top of the ladder, but there will be plenty of ups and downs

For all of you wanting a shred of positivity I will say this - we don’t win that game last year, it ends up being like the Saints and Melbourne game.

Whether you want to put that more down to the playing group or the coaching is your own prerogative but I will pay Longmuir credit on this - we are getting better at winning games when we’re not playing well.

I still need to see this in a final to really get on board, but it’s a positive step.

Not that you or any other Longmuir doubters are compelled to cater to anyone, but I think this is genuinely all most people want...just to be met half way by acknowledging that there are currently a fair few positives. In the cold light of day (/Rossism), he's got us sitting at 7-1 without putting a full four quarter performance together.

Giving credit where it's warranted doesn't detract from your belief that ultimately, he isn't going to get us all the way. There's still justifiable concern on a few levels and it's not really outlandish to have doubts at this stage.

Ceding a bit of ground when the situation demands makes the discourse in this thread a lot healthier.

Second bit of JLo credit I’m willing to give today.

I loved that. Didn’t think he had it in him. More angry JLo, less nervous JLo please.

I’m a simple man, I see a coach give a proper old school bake, and he immediately goes up in my estimations.

If I could add a final bit to consider. While they seem like they can take a punch and it can be frustrating to read constant negativity when we are flying (and frankly King Tenz id be rethinking posting about looking forward to proving everyone wrong when we dont win a flag), as Noddy proved this week, you just dont know.

Its not against the rules, it might be (mostly) intended as banter but pinging someone after a win when they havent said anything (this week) to have a bit of a crack isnt too far off all those numpties you see attacking footy players on Twitter or Facebook or whatever. Just food for thought.
