Yep, there's a bit of a meme on my group chat with my footy friends of me posting 'sack JLo' when things are going badly during a game (mostly stemming from previous years obviously).

Someone tonight asked why no 'sack JLo' when it was looking like the game was lost and I pretty much said the above. We were going blow-for-blow with another contender all night, it's just we were missing our chances while they were nailing theirs from everywhere.

I never felt like we were playing particularly badly, it was just frustrating how much more clinical they were with their chances.

Thats how i felt watching the game

I think it put the fear into the rest of the competition tonight. Whoever pressed the wharfie time button did it at exactly the right time. It felt like a spiritual awakening

Fredrick had his best game for the club. Not just goal kicking, he was sticking tackles too. The run down tackle in D50 to save a certain goal was the moment of the game for me.

Luke Jackson just said enough of this shit and just destroyed them.

I didn't think Freo were gonna win considering we were down at 3 quarter time.

I will say this. I thought we were gonna lose because we sprayed too many shots like in the 2013 grand final.

People will debate on how good or important Frederick is. That goal he scored in the 1st quarter is a small reason why he should be in the side.

I like his run and confidence in kicking goals on the run.

He is willing to run and tackle too that can turn into Freo goals. Just like he did in the 2022 Elim final.

It's a good overall squad. But most importantly for the 1st time since 2013 to 2015, there is actual belief

Hawks ran out of puff, 4 inside fifties to 22 in the 4th, one way traffic. They brought three rucks, two to ruck, and they couldn't compete for four quarters.

They have been so used to grinding down opposition sides with their giant rucks, they matched up against Jackson and Cox - and were left wanting. Jackson with 18 contested possessions. Grunt.

Murphy Reid is class.

We are beating sides with half a quarter extra burst efforts. Not that I need the side to bring that for a full game, but I hope they do for a qualifying final or prelim final to get into the big one.

Some really bad mistakes in that game but ultimately it looked like we were going to kick ourselves out of the contest after getting enough opportunities.

Thankfully the surge couldn't be held back forever and we rolled over the top of them.

Not gonna lie I was convinced we just hadn't taken our chances, and had too many unforced clangers and Hawks would be too good.
Particularly then after we missed those shots in the fourth quarter.
