I prefer , ' what it still can be'.
We’ve persisted with others far less talented than Goater. I’d give him a two year contract now considering the dead wood still existing on the list.
I’m that confident in his talent

Is that a thing already? There was speculation, but I can't find much about it.Hansen jnr will be on the “special” indigenous list I reckon
My problem Dinkers is off the top.of my head Tarrant is the only one in recent memory who we have backed in and has come good.
Not sure if we are cursed or just s h i t managers of long term injuries, but the plethora or guys who have never come back is testament to something.
Starting to believe that the Goat may join that list. Will we ever see the best of George ? Archer ? Goater ?
HIstory tells us no sadly.
Those eight clearly go before Josh. If we need to off-load another one or two, Pink is okay as back up but would hardly be a loss. Also Powell should be only back-up now and may want to go elsewhere.I see zero harm with Josh slowly building via the VFL. It looks to be hope that's killing the supporter base re Goater. It seems many would feel more at ease with him delisted than working his way back.
If we delisted him, another club wouldn't be able to spit his name out quick enough. Tassie-mania with further water down the quality of the comp. Which imo isn't flash currently.
At seasons end, I suggest these guys could all go, some their decision and other not given a choice.
1. Scott- I think he will leave
2. Harvey- as above, unless something changes.
3. CCJ- Dawson just delivered the knockout blow
4.Hansen Jnr- Harvey is better
5. Fisher- feel we may pay him out
6. Corr- retire
7. Stevens- ??
8. BOABBanch- ??
if those eight leave at seasons end, who honestly thinks we will go backwards in 2027. The below is our current draft picks for season 2026.

Not sure which gun is slipping through to picks 43 onwards. The club removes emotion when making list decisions.
the basic premise is, has the player improved. Josh managed 3 VFL games in season 2025, has played 2 in 2026.
While the bar may well be low, I'm not sure how we benefit by delisting Josh.

I feel like this is a good year to make cuts. Whilst we don't many picks, we have a few academy players we can get for SFA and we should be able to attract a decent FA or two.
Yeah Comben and ZDuursma. Colbert, Crocker and Carey in years gone past. Even Corey in 1999.My problem Dinkers is off the top.of my head Tarrant is the only one in recent memory who we have backed in and has come good.

Yeah more than enough that will be offloaded before the goatYep R Tarrant 39 games in his first 5 years.
And you could well be right, but I suppose my point is, Josh isn't keeping a gun player off the list.
George- is quietly building games at VFL level. has managed 17 games across 25/26.
Archer- busted his leg, then did his knee, dunno.
Goater- as discussed, I think we are being ultra conservative, and rightly so. probably would want to get on the park for a six week stint sooner than later.
Some come good Tarrant & Comben. Some don’t Will Walker & Garner. Some are less of a concern with each game they play Wardlaw and George. And some are unknown Goater & Archer. My problem Dinkers is off the top.of my head Tarrant is the only one in recent memory who we have backed in and has come good.
