We got Foxtel when I was about 15 and used to sit in front of the TV on a Saturday night as a family watching WCW Nitro.

There were a couple of occasions where they couldn't get the feed for some reason or another so they played two episodes back to back the following week. A 3am finish!
I remember it well

And here we have the rare centenarian called the David Attenborough, exploring the great environs of the natural world.

"In the vast continent of Australia, we see this creature often called a BigFooty poster. He attempts to attract a mate with a colourful avatar, an array of shitposts and his collection of memes, but sadly he attracts little female attention. Undeterred, the BigFooty poster returns to his home, called the General Discussion board, to share his new tale of his failure to mate."

Nobody would have them on their lists and they are better known in America than Australia, but Wikipedia's death list for 7th May shows an extraordinary coincidence where two men with unusual but such similar names have died from cancer on the same day.

One was Pat Caputo a sports journalist from Michigan who passed away at age 67, the other 84-year-old author Philip Caputo from Connecticut.

Weird or what?

I saw that and checked for relatedness

That was the first thing I did too, assuming the two men were brothers who died in some sort of accident at the same time, but it wasn't the case.

It's odd how these anomalies with similar names crop up from time to time, I've noticed a couple with unsolved missing persons cases over the years. As one example the surname 'Negrete' is hardly common, yet two unrelated teenage boys with this same name vanished without trace in California at opposite ends of the 1990s. One was Jarrod Negrete, a 13-year-old boy scout hiking with his troop in July 1991 who fell behind the other boys and leaders and disappeared forever. The second was Michael Negrete, a 19-year-old college freshman who in December 1999 in a window of just five minutes managed to vanish seemingly into thin air from a busy California university campus, and like his namesake 8 years earlier has never been seen or heard from since, both disappearances now cold cases unsolved for decades.

Another one involves two sets of teenage girls. Best friends Susan Smalley and Stacie Madison both 18 disappeared in mysterious circumstances in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas in March 1988, and have not been seen or heard from since. Then in June 1992 in Springfield Missouri Suzanne 'Susie' Streeter (19) and her best friend Stacey McCall (18) vanished into thin air after their high school graduation along with Susie's mother Sherrill Levitt, the infamous and eerie cold case known as the Springfield Three.

Before anyone points it out - yes the girls' names are spelt differently with Susan vs. Suzanne and Stacie vs. Stacey - and they were common names around the time, but the odds of two sets of girls about the same age with such similar names (they even have the same initials SS and SM) vanishing in bizarre circumstances just four years apart and the cases never solved are astronomical. There's also an ironic name in the Springfield 3 case as Susie had a brother, Sherrill's son a few years older than his sister. What is the name of Susie's older brother who also resided in Springfield? His name is Bart.
