Just watched the presser with our 3 head honchos.

I’ll say this - I’ve seen a number of those press conferences over the years, I’ve never seen one as professional as that. I think all three should be commended on that effort.

The respect and honesty they showed Michael through that press conference was great to witness as well.

Mitchell didn't tank; they just had to rebuild because they were getting old. Clarkson did him no favours
Oh, yes he did. Deliberately trading away your entire midfield to make your side worse is absolutely tanking.

Lex Luthor and Charles Xavier have always had that professional edge to their press statements.

Thanks Vossy. The joy of the finals run in 23 was the best since the 99 prelim and patches of the Ratts years. Wish we had the rest of the club in good shape to help you out a bit more.

All the best for whatever is next for you and your family.

100%. I may not have liked or agreed with some of the selection choices and game day tactics, but he has always shouldered the responsibility and done the right thing by the club.

Classy Bloke and sad that he couldn't deliver us No.17.

Thanks for the joys of the '23 Semi win and for getting us as close as anyone has in the last 20 years Vossy.
All the best in future endeavors. Time to have a break with the Family.
Just realised that my daughter and I probably saw him walking to that fateful meeting with priestly and wright that Vossy mentioned in the interview

We had arrived from Adleiade and headed to lygon. We were sitting outside at dinner on Thursday night before the Saints game (early was about 6) and saw him walking past - really stern look on his face. Wished him well for tomorrow night ( I was awe struck seeing him and forgot we were playing Saturday, not Friday) and he touched me on the shoulder and said thanks mate.

For all the criticism he copped, his character wouldn’t be one of his issues

Got to echo the sentiments here.

He seems to be a fundamentally decent, caring and supportive person. He took a real pastoral approach to leadership and rarely assigned blame on public, even when warranted.

The next coach will hopefully achieve more at the job but I think we will remember Voss the person with fondness.

Props to Vossy for putting his hand up and acknowledging he'd done all he could with the list/team, didn't dodge issues or look to blame others when things weren't going well.

Vossy has conducted himself well. Wish it had of worked out for him. Hopefully Carlton people remember him as someone who gave his best. Appears he genuinely loves the club. Just a good human. All the best Vossy would like to see him stay involved in footy

Whatever you say about his coaching tenure, no one can deny he is an absolute class individual.

Well said.

Yeah I have a bit of inner dissonance going on.

Our gameplan simply didn't hold up, and I absolutely agree with the parting of ways.

He also appeared to be as invested as you could ever want a coach to be, genuine and sincere.

Hope he has good things ahead.

Rattens list was missing a decent Key Forward (Walker was good as a forward but we robbed Peter to pay Paul having him there.

And Voss’s list was missing outside pace, which Rattens list had in spades.

Ratts list would be nasty in todays footy with all that speed and Yazz off half back. while Vossys would dominate the Ratts era.

Absolutely, and it shouldn’t be lost on everyone whilst he wasn’t wearing Carlton merchandise during his interview with Barrett he did choose to wear a Navy Blue coloured jumper. 😉

I've been a long time reader of BigFooty but never made an account. Just thought I'd make one to say thank you Vossy. The prelim in 2023 against Melbourne was one of the best nights I've ever had and was lucky to be sharing that final siren moment with my dad and 96,000 fans at the G crying with joy.
I hope we get there again one day and best of luck to Vossy for the future.
Go Blues.

For better or worse it's the best footy moment I've shared with my son too.

The 2023 Semi Final was everthing to me since the 1995 Grand Final - was there amongst that huge 96+K crowd.

Weitering > Hollands > Doc > Acres - GOAL

The rumble in the grandstands and that deafening noise WOW just WOW never heard it so loud for many many years.

What a night to remember and cherish.

Thank you :blueheart: Vossy :blueheart:and wishing you all the best in what the future brings.

You will always be a legend in my eyes and my all time fav Brisbane player of all time!
