Morris saying tonight that Cam Bruce likely to stay at Brisbane rather than being a candidate for the Carlton job.
You think the blues will ask Daly although not sure who want to coach Carlton.
Tassie coming they stuffed to load up now.
The supporters with big $$$ want a cup now and I say have a bit of say on how things run.
"Roll" has been widely misinterpreted here. I don't think it means what you think it means in this context. Not after this pearler from their President
Why would anyone willingly sign up for this crap

Did seem to do well in an assistant role at Port. Might be one of those guys that work better when being forced to colour within lines - from his time at the Lions and Blues, I wouldn't want him in charge of the overall gameplan for example. Why? He’s our greatest ever player but he’s been shown to be a pretty limited, poor coach!
I must be dumb. What does it mean?"Roll" has been widely misinterpreted here. I don't think it means what you think it means in this context.
I think it means to roll with someone/something.... as apposed to roll someone/something.I must be dumb. What does it mean?
In this context it meant to "roll on to the next year".I must be dumb. What does it mean?
Very interesting listening to David Parkin yesterday discussing how the culture of all the clubs he's been involved with (Hawthorn, Carlton, Fitzroy, others?) are all so so different. The question for Carlton is have they hit rock bottom?
We did and were so broken that we bought in fagan and every level in the club ALLOWED/ GAVE HIM SPACE to do his thing.
My guess is no for Carlton. To many big personalities/ financial contributors in the backroom creating power struggles that impact right down to team selection.
No coach can succeed until they fix that part of their (dare I use the word? Yep) culture.

A pity he didn't really elaborate on what those differences were.
I know it wasn't meant as a joke Gadz but I had to laugh when I read the bolded. The problem is that afl clubs are full of afl players.
To be an afl player, or an elite athlete of any kind, you need an combatativeness (word??) and arrogance that says 'i am the best, better than them, they don't count' or you have lost before the start gun goes.
They live that attitude for decades and it doesn't just fade when they finish competing; a lot of them take it with them to the next thing they do.
These individuals impact and shape club culture to their vision of what is right and they don't step backwards when someone disagrees.
Can lead to dysfunction that permeates afl levels
Same with working at a university...I know it wasn't meant as a joke Gadz but I had to laugh when I read the bolded.
It reminded me of a teacher I knew a while ago and we were talking about the extra time they got off with pupil free days/afternoons compared to teachers in my time as a student in the 60s-70s... he said jokingly "yer schools always operate better when the students aren't there" LOL.
I have used that line ever since when people complain about their work, eg. a couple in the family work at a Hospital and YES they are way more efficient when there are no patients.
Interesting.
Carlton and Essendon would be the worst clubs to work for. Basically driven by backroom agendas and ego and no accountability when it goes wrong. Just blame it all on the coach.
My experience is that universities run better when (some) academics are not there. Working from home should be encouraged and then don't provide online access to meetings. The students are generally ok.Same with working at a university...

for our collective entertainment i certainly hope notThe question for Carlton is have they hit rock bottom?

Why do you think they have both been so irrelevant this century? So entitled.
The brown paper bag days are over.
The life of a Research Fellow.Same with working at a university...
I read it as roll him out the door ie we wanted to get rid of him last year but let him coach out his contract (subtext aren't we good ... new guy can trust us to keep our word)In this context it meant to "roll on to the next year".
