Caleb May is a huge unitAll four we’re purportedly looking at are 22 or under. Don’t mind Riley or May as a project player.

Had a few poorly timed injuries. He was almost a guarantee a few year back before injury just before the MSD.El Nour has been in the radar the past couple of years

Is he a similar player to bukuI like the report of us looking into El Nuor, he's a handy player and a former academy player for us.
More of a rebounder. Is he a similar player to buku

Van Wyk is another one who has been looked at in previous MSD's and I believe was another along with Keogh who narrowly missed out on one of the essendon spots last year due to untimely injury.According to that article, we are at least doing our due dilligence in looking for ruckmen.
Sam Toner (20yo medium sized forward from Richmond VFL)
Mutaz El Nour (24yo tall defender from Richmond VFL)
Caleb May (21yo ruck from West Adelaide)
Tom Scully (21yo ruck/forward from West Adelaide)
Alex Van Wyk (21yo ruck from North Adelaide)
Flynn Riley (22yo ruck from Carlton VFL)
Marcus Herbert (23yo defender/midfielder from Geelong VFL)

At the very least Van Wyk looks physically ready to play AFL. Dude is an absolute unit
He’s coming home, physically, metaphorically and in reality. He wants the dogs!!! That’s all I’ll say on it.![]()
Zak Butters decision already ‘played out a year in advance’
A rival coach has leaked his club’s intel on the AFL’s hottest free agent.7news.com.au
Reading between the lines I say he wants to return home.
Port nuffies are so delusional they have started ranting and even contradicting themselves during their own rants:
"
Firstly, even though I read the stuff there, don't bother replying or reading too much into it. Majority of people on there are the same imbeciles pushing for the rules with father son and academies whilst also telling Port for example, that they have to move an elite player on to get a #1 picked player from draft yet say the opposite with a trade like this, where it's Port have to accept what ever.
Also, they all keep ranting on about "he's out of contract", yet fail to comprehend how the system actually works. His contract will be finished, yes, normally October is when they finish up. But being a "restricted" free agent like a non restricted agent, he's still bound by the system. That system is, he can choose a club, that club offers their contract, Port can (and will) decide to match that contract offer, which forces a trade scenario (which is like him being contracted). He isn't "free" to just move. The trade must be done and the club, i.e. Port, CAN refuse the trade if it is NOT acceptable, like any trade. These people fail to realise and give examples from times that are irrelevant as well as there not being enough examples in these situations to reflect on. Butters is still contracted until October even if Port refuse to trade.
It then becomes a situation where Butters can decide to remain at Port on the matched contract offer, OR, he can then request to either enter the national draft or pre season draft and take the risk. Now, they can use some examples, and even the Ah Che one from last year, how ever, Ah Che got to Adelaide on a contract no club would accept for his calibre. Crows over paid basically for someone no one really needed or wanted to even take that risk on. Butters is completely different and every club would take him or at least weigh up the contract terms he's put forward and he will not get to the Dogs OR Geelong. That is a 100% guaranteed fact.
His management will tell him this. They'll also try and put pressure on Port but also put it on the Dogs for example as well and demand they pay for his services or he remains at Port. They don't want to take the draft risk because they know he won't get there.
Also, if he stays at Port after no trade can be done, if that matched offer by the Dogs is unders compared to what Port offered (if they did) for a contract, he also runs the risk of Being on less money and worse terms because Port don't have to offer a better or new contract.
Example, Dogs offer 1.5m per year for 8 years. Port might have offered 2m per year for 10 years.
He loses out potentially 8m over the remaining contract years. If it's 8 years instead of 10 then it's about 4m difference. Whether that's bothers him, I dunno.
Point is, Port won't take compensation pick, they'll match it because it's not about getting more but showing Butters that he is wanted at Port and much loved and required. These players don't come around often. They'll match to also obtain OVERS in a trade for a top 5 in the league talent who is proven. If trade is shit, they'll reject it until it's either improved or flat out piss off scenario. It isn't on Port. It's as a matter of fact on Dogs or whomever the club is that wants Butters, to get the capital for a trade. Some silly ignorant supporters believe it's up to Port to organise this trade and with other clubs etc for the capital. It's not. If Dogs don't have the capital to succeed i a trade, that's on them as a club. Not Port.
Unless you want to talk to ******s on that main forum regarding trades, draft rules, etc.. I wouldn't bother.
Also, I highly, HIGHLY, doubt that Butters is the type of person to just be perfectly OK with Port being screwed in this situation.
Also, I'm still confident he signs a contract to stay at Port."
He won't stay at Port on less money if they refuse to trade. He'll go to PSD on a monster contract.Port nuffies are so delusional they have started ranting and even contradicting themselves during their own rants:

This is easily the most delusional part of that post for me. As though Port matching the FA offer is going make Butters think "huh, they really must rate me, maybe I'll stay after all".Point is, Port won't take compensation pick, they'll match it because it's not about getting more but showing Butters that he is wanted at Port and much loved and required.

Sadly it feels like he's due to be hit by an incidence of gout or a terribly in-grown toe nails. Best for him to put his feet up for a while to look after himselfSigh....
El Souki into 13th best rated player in the HUNs draft ratings today.
