I remember when people were ragging on Kai when he was only getting 10 mins in a qtr & wasnt playing full games. Idiots saying dopey shit like he was a waste of a list spot & yet, look at how he performed for the last 2 gf! Bashing on a young inexperienced player is poor form.

Curtin doesn't deserve the hate. He is an old school forward who will take years to develop.

But lets be honest. He shouldn't have been playing. We won the flag last year with Morris and Gallop as our two key forwards. We finally reunite them and look what happens.

Brain was also prepared to take the game on and contribute to some great transition out of defence. Intercept marking was good. With Joyce and Brain in and Gallop forward, Fagan has got it right. Let’s not see anymore of Curtin this year and let’s keep Gallop at CHF.

Outside my votes, (Morris, Neale, Wilmot, Fort and Brain), I thought W. Ashcroft, Draper, Berry, Answerth, Cameron, McKenna, Dunkley L. Ashcroft and Gallop were solid.

I hope we play more disciplined this week namely:
-Kia not going for the miracle shots and burning players in better positions (2 goals last week).
-Logan not giving away silly 50s (1 goal last week).
-STOP kicking to contests on the 50 metre arc in middle of the field as we DONT have the key forwards to mark. It rebounds down the other end and they score (2 goals last week).
There is last weeks difference there.
FINALLY we need to recognise we don’t have a match winning key forward who can take contested marks. Therefore, let’s do what we used to do 7 years ago and kick to the pockets...

He did. When he comes back it’s going to help. I would keep Joyce in the team when Lester comes back. Andrews-Lester-Joyce gives us more than Andrews-Lester-Gardiner, though it is a close run thing.

Gave him a vote. Really opened up the field almost as well as Zorks

Every club has its flog supporters, Freo and the Saints more than most. But any Lions fans getting stuck into a 19 yo key forward in a review thread for a game he didn't play really takes the cake. Not only are they denigrating Fagan's judgment but their expectations for a Morris type impact from every tall coming through the club calls into doubt their intelligence as a football spectator.

Bruce turns me on more than what Answerth does Ripper.

Berry makes a big difference to us. Not many wingers can cover the ground he does and still have his strength in a contest.

In many ways the best performance of the year, even though seriously undermanned. Lots of players stood up and it seemed to be a real team effort defensively. So much more pressure than the last few weeks. Four good quarters.

If we have learned anything it is that we win on the back of team defensive pressure followed by forward 50 pressure. I think that is the mantra now - defend as a team from the get go. Once that is working we seem to click into the groove going forward.

Brain deserves more time at this level. He showed a lot running both ways. Some of Bruce’s disposals were elite. Jimmy T also showed good signs. Will looked more lively and dangerous at the contest. McKenna’s best game in a while.

Brains ability to either evade/ break a tackle tonight take some ground then square up and deliver by foot was awesome.
Jimmy T's pace in getting back to support the defense awesone.
