    Round 6 changes Vs Melbourne

Good selections by WCE in my opinion. McGinnity in to tag Davey. Perfect fit. Will smash him. Davey cannot shake a hard tag

Rate Eagles players in the WAFL GF

Not sure if it has been mentioned on here or on another thread yet but little Lewis Broome got BOG in the reserves GF. Worth perservering with. He will be playing league next season and hopefully push for AFL action...

Changes for Round 16 v Essendon at Docklands

Leave Masten in. He is clearly being played out of position as a high forward. Why I am not sure? Woosha did this early in the season with little affect. He needs to play in the guts. I think after he gets some match time under his belt thats where they will play him and he will come good...

    Welcome Lewis Broome

Would seem to be a similar build and player to Robin Nahas (Richmond). Someone correct me if I am wrong. Lightly built and quick. Good tackler. Dangerous around goals. He surprised many last year with his impact on the AFL coming from the rookie list.

    WCE Line-up

FB: Waters, Glass, Brown HB: Hurn, Mackenzie, Embley C: Shuey, Masten, Swift HF: Rosa, Kennedy, Ebert FF: LeCras, Lynch, McKinley RR: Cox, Kerr, A.Selwood Int: Naitanui, Priddis, Butler, Scooter. Emg: Sheppard, Dalziell, Stevens Would really like to fit Weedon in the side as his forward...

    The Trade/Delist/Draft SUPERMEGAULTRAthread

There are a few whispers around that Hansen will be going to Geelong. Apparantly it is a done deal.

Game thread - WCE vs Melb

Thoughts from the game: Negative - 1. Fletcher and Stenglein. Too slow, too crap, too old. Fletcher has played his last game for West Coast. Stenglein will not be too far behind him. 2. Mitch Brown. Good young player but terrible terrible decision making. 3. Delivery into the...

How many Collingwood players have worked their way into your dream team?

Yeah I have quite a few. Shaw, Swan, Didak, Thomas, and Sidebottom. Bit disappointed with Shaw and Thomas but they have the ability to be pulling 90+ per game so will be keeping them.

    One word.... Skills

    Changes for R11 v Geelong

In: Naitanui, Priddis Out: Hunter, McNamara Houlihan is no chance. Coaching staff has showed that they are not going to pick him even though he is playing well in the WAFL. Our dropped AFL players (eg. Hansen, Fletch) show that WAFL form does not equate to good AFL form. The distance between...

    Trade Discussion 2009 - Part 6

I reckon Sidebottom mate. Higgins looks hampered with this groin injury and they are also playing Sydney so low scores are expected

    4 Solid weeks from Naitanui

I think you will find that when he does get a game he will play as a forward. His forward pressure and tackling will be something that our forward line is lacking!!

    Round 8 Late Changes

GEELONG v NORTH MELBOURNE Geelong B: Andrew Mackie, Matthew Scarlett, Darren Milburn HB: Joel Corey, Tom Harley, Harry Taylor C: Jimmy Bartel, Corey Enright, Max Rooke HF: Travis Varcoe, Cameron Mooney, Mathew Stokes F: Tom Lonergan, Tom Hawkins, Steve Johnson Foll: Mark Blake, Cameron...

    2009 Trade Discussion - Part 5

I would suggest quite a few people are in the same situation as me. Fwd line is this - Pav, Franklin, NG Brown, Thomas, Higgins, Ziebell, Krak, M Brown, Rookie. Need to trade this week to not get a zero. Who should I trade upwards? Ziebell or Thomas?? I am leaning towards Ziebell as...

    Changes for R8 v Sydney

For anyone thinking that Hunter will be dropped consider this. You need 150 games for life membership at the West Coast Eagles. He has currently played 149. He will be playing one more game thats for sure.

    Luke Hodge

Hodge will come good Last night he started at CHB. This means he has to play with a defensive mindset. Last year he had Gilham and Croad holding down key defensive positions and he had the licence to do what he wanted. Right now he is probably instructed to play very defensive. Gilham should...

    2009 Trade Discussion - Part 3

Hey Guys, Just wondering on peoples thoughts of trading Sam Jacobs ($127,200) to Shane Mumford ($115,400). Jacobs is currently on my bench but is now out for 6 weeks so a trade to Mumford will make me some cash. How long will Mumford stay in the team for? Will he keep his spot when Ottens has...

Western Bulldogs - Post Game Analysis

Is it just me or does our gameplan seem to be to zone off the ball carrier and try and create a 2 on 1 a kick down the field. There always seems to be zero pressure on the ball carrier especially coming out of our offensive area. It does not seem to be a lack of fitness from our forwards but a...

Round 6 changes vs Western Bulldogs

Surely LeCras would replace Armstrong and not Chad Jones

Will we have a crack at a big name player in this years Trade Week?

Hey posters can anyone give me a comparison between Notte and Westhoff? Westhoff looked really skinny last year but still played some really good footy. If Westhoff can do it then so can Notte!!

    It's Spangher Time

With our two big forwards in terrible form I reckon its time we bring in Matthew Spangher. He showed in pre-season form that he is capable of holding down CHB and this will then allow Hunter to swing forward. Either Hansen or Lynch or both will make way for this young gun!
  23. L

    Changes for R4 vs Sydney

Ah no. Hansen will take a mark on a lead but doesnt matter how good the kick is to him he wont take a contested mark.
  24. L

    Changes for R4 vs Sydney

Well what an average display it was from our tall forwards. I wonder is Hansen and Lynch have heard of a contested mark because I doubt either have taken one in the first three rounds. Forward line is the problem for me so these are my changes Out: Hansen - Unable to take a contested mark...

    Eagles line up vs Adelaide

Thought Staker may have struggled to hold his spot. Suppose you have to give him more than one game to prove himself. Our depth is amazing. If Staker or Graham dont perform you have Kennedy and Spangher waiting in the wings. Would really have liked to have seen Spangher make his debut. Didnt...

Postional changes..re-shuffle the deck chairs on the titanic

It surprises me that people think it is a good idea for Hunter to play forward. He has been tried there and it doesnt work. Hunter plays his best footy in the backline and pinch hitting in the forward line by running hard off his player. Keep Hunter in the backline!!!

    Round 18 WAFL Report

Anyone have any details on Sam Butlers game in the reserves. Apparantly injured his groin in the first few minutes. Anyone know the seriousness?
  28. L

    Official team vs Saints

How does Graham's form warrant a recall. If we are looking at WAFL form then clearly Chad Jones form is far superior. Not good changes in my opinion. As much crap as Rowan Jones copes hes a great link man and now we have no defensive forward. Graham will clearly need to play forward. Remember...

    Team v St.Kilda

In the paper today the Eagles said they would not upgrade anyone unless they were going to go straight into the Eagles team. With Brown omitted I reckon Chad Jones is a certainty to play!

    More strife for Eagle Sampi

Does anyone know whether he will be back to play for South Freo this weekend? I know he has requested time off but how long is he away for?
