The crowd isn't going to influence the umpire into calling a free when nothing has happened. If there is a 50/50 call then they may help but then you can't really argue as it was a 50/50 call to start with.
I think it comes down to where the kick is. Often if its in the defensive 50 they call play on to get the game moving. Even the commentators were joking in our game about a couple of decisions where it was clearly at least 20 metres but called to play on.
If you attempt a bump and hit the head its a ban. Surely everyone knows this by now. It was clumsy by Sandilands he should have just gone the ball he most likely would have got the hit out even with the 3rd man up.
I dont care if a player moves a metre or two when kicking for goal. It would make very little difference. As long as its kicked from behind the mark then who cares.
I dont understand why people are pissed off about the Ballantyne one in the first quarter. If Ballantyne didn't act like such a ******* all the time and niggle every 2 seconds they wouldnt have their eyes on him ready to call a free. Suban is the same. Just play the game
TBH I thought it just looked a lot worse live than it was. When I watched the footage again he was watching the ball going for the spoil and never hit Wingards head. If Wingard never went to hospital for a check up it wouldn't even be a big deal.
Amazing people seem to forget and just concentrate on the last few minutes.
Darling's clear mark that was taken off him which cost us a certain goal.
Jumping on Mackenzies back in the defensive 50 that got called holding the ball and gave a shot on goal to Saints.
Darling was fairly obviously...
The one I'm hating at the moment is the free for in the back on the bottom of a pack. Sometimes there is barely any contact at all for a free to be given. If they're trying to contest the ball just let them go at it. Its not like its dangerous or anything.
I thought it was the other angle (the one directly in line with the goal line with the post in front of the ball) that confirmed it was over. You could see the majority of the ball on the other side and clearly figure out where the line and ball would of been. For the ball to have not of crossed...
Why wont people realise that players aren't ducking their head, they are lowering their body so they are making it harder for them to tackle. For example you see Shuey sometimes running on a 45 degree angle to protect his body. Its a smart tactic not cheating. They can still be tackled without...
No luck at all hey. Just conveniently forget all the frees you got in the first quarter, Hurn being called to play on only after a couple of seconds in the last quarter which resulted in a goal, lucky bounces near goals etc.
All the Carlton supporters saying the umps won it for us need to give it a rest. The Blues got a load of freebies at the start and there were no free kicks in the latter part of the game to either team. It was there to win in the end and you didnt do it.
They were over officiating in the...
There was definitely some sort of hold there and as soon as the whistle went off I knew it was for that but still I thought it was quite minor and considering where it was and the point of the game, probably should of been left alone.
