Oceania get direct qualification into the World Cup

How do we get meaningful preparation? That's the question. Even if we don't join Asia, could we get invited to their continental championship?

    FIFA has no idea

What's in it for the rest of Oceania though? OK, it suits Australia, but Australia isn't Oceania. The smaller countries would probably prefer to have one shot at knocking off Australia and New Zealand than being thrust into Asia. Can't see it happening.

    FIFA has no idea

Not sure I understand. Now SA is a big joke, but you're saying they should not have agreed to have the winner of Oceania go straight through? "No no, Sepp, we won't take the free ride, and the millions of dollars that accompany it. We want to be part of Asia, so we get some decent games! What's...

    FIFA has no idea

Yep, first time ever politics has been brought into sport. This is the end of sport as we know it.

    FIFA has no idea

I think people are slightly confused here. The administration of soccer in Australia is shambolic, yes. But the actual team is not. We have some very good players. I mean, do people really think that the governing body of Nigeria, Cameroon, Saudi Arabia, etc etc are that much better than...

Oceania get direct qualification into the World Cup

Although I'd love to see Australia in the Asian confed, it just ain't gonna happen. It's not ideal, but it's better than what we have in place now. Hopefully the promise of being in the WC should mean some more meaningfull friendlies. On the whole injustice of it all, stiff poo. How many of...

Its official - Australia to play England

Bullpucky. Given the right preparation, Australia has just as much chance of beating England as the US in England.

    It's all about the Socceroos

I'm not sure what the point of trying to compare EPL and AFL crowd figures were, but it might shock people to know that there IS football outside of the EPL. The lower divisions of England get pretty decent crowds, better than the VFL I'm sure, and noone's quoting anything from any other league...

    It's all about the Socceroos

No disrespect, but if I watched one game of Freo vs Sydney and took that as my judgement of AFL, I wouldn't be watching that either. Funny how I've seen the most shiit-boring test-matches, but I don't condemn the sport as quickly as people here do to soccer. Scared, aren't youse?

Oops silly me. I waste 5 minutes of my life reading Dan trying to prove black is white. If only he'd get killed at the next zebra crossing. Sbagman.
