I think it's nowhere near fair when you tke into account that of the 7 teams we play twice, 4 of them were top 8 sides in 2004. Add to that the final game of the season in Perth against WCE and I think it's rather ordinary.

I haven't looked at Collingwood's yet - the usual 18 games at the MCG or Telstra I suppose?

Collingwood will always get a great fixture. I am not sure if you are aware macca23 but in the draft of the fixture sent to clubs we were scheduled to play Collingwood at home in round 22 and WC at subi in round 21. However when the fixture was released a week later the games have been switched. It begs the question doesn't it ;)

No now looking at the draw a bit closer I think it's pretty good and a big improvement on this years, 12 games at AAMI, 7 in Victoria, 1 in Tassie ;), 1 in Sydney and 1 in Perth and they are all evenly spread apart, even our Perth game in Rnd 22 anit that bad as we have four games at AAMI before that game.

I think we did OK.

Better than 04, that was a shocker. 8 of the first 11 away sucked big time. By the time we got a few home games the season was over.

If we are good enough we will be there come finals time.

All in all it’s not a bad draw….

There aren’t any instances of Sunday afternoon games interstate followed up by a Friday night game interstate….

We have 2 lots of 2 away games in a row…
R 4 & 5…Sydney at the SCG on a Sunday arvo followed by Bulldogs at the Dome on the Saturday night……(not ideal but not in the category of Perth on the Sunday and Melbourne 5 days later)
R 12 & 13….Geelong at Skilled on a Sunday arvo followed by Richmond at the Dome on the Saturday night………..not ideal but….

Playing Bulldogs/Kangas/Collingwood/West Coast twice is fair
Paps twice as usual……don’t see why butI suppose it helps them out with gate takings.
Melbourne / Sydney the only other final 8 sides to play twice.

1 Game at the MCG is a ********ing disgrace – but what’s new???
5 at the Dome is ok – we have a good record there

No Brisbane trip and once to Perth is a bonus.

Of the 8 sides we play once…..4 did make the final 8 in 2004 ….(2 we play at home and 2 we play away)...fair
Of the 8 sides we play once …..4 didn’t make the final 8 in 2004….(1 we play at home…3 we play away)..fair

I would say one of the better draws we’ve had in the last few years

Our draw is reasonably fair I would say. In fact, Mad Dog summed it up perfectly. The only way this draw could be better would had a couple moved from Telstra to the MCG just to fair things up. If we've got six Melbourne games it really should go three and three. But then again, we play pretty well at Telstra. Going to Geelong and Tassie is probably the biggest downer. I'm not sure many other teams would have to go to Geelong and have an away game at a non-traditional venue.
I haven't seen Collingwood's draw but I presume Friday night is once again Pie Night.

Our Best draw for a number of years. No Brisbane and Perth only once (albeit R22 - only really a prob if we make the finals in 2005. Hopefully we dont play there R22 for many yrs after 2005)

From the top 8 in 2004 - we play Cats, Saints, Lions and Dons only once. Play WC, Dees and Swans twice - we seem to have a good record against these 3.

My 2 main issues:

1 game at the G is a disgrace. Should be at least 3

Only 1 Friday night from memory. This is also cr@p. The Crows for 14 straight yrs have clearly the strongest membership base. And id venture to say we have the 2nd highest support nationally after Pies. Why wouldnt we get more exposure on this key fixture when Collingwood and Essendon get 6 each next year. I would expect 3 games on Friday night as a minimum

3 Saturday afternoon home games plus the away showdown are my biggest cocncerns.

Our Crowds are always poor on those days yet the AFL doesn't react to it

I won't be able to got to any of those games which significantly reducess the vlaue of my season ticket and my gold membership, given we probably won't make the finals and the voting rights mean nothing.
