So,astrovic and shintemaster, you're suggesting we gift Majak games?

There’s gifting and gifting I guess…

End of the day we need to see what he can do this year and that is going to take games. There are limits of course, but for the longterm future of the club we need to put the time in. He’s fit, can run out games and is clearly capable of good form. I personally rated his input last year in a number of games. Thought that after the last part of the Essendon game he contributed very well.

So yeah, gift him some games. Teeth gnashing supporters prepare yourselves, because I may be wrong but I suspect the club has every intention of doing pretty much that this year.

In the golden era when we had Carey and McKernan forward, Corey McKernan had 1 or 2 years when he consistently ran under the ball in marking contests. Somehow he really improved that in his last couple of years. Maj needs to speak with him urgently.

No gifting games. Not this season.

What I'm saying is playing Maj works structurally, even if he doesn't exactly set the world on fire. I'm quite content if he plays round one.

I thought the same thing. I'd like to know the players would agree not to drink while in rehab.

I'm going to guess that Maj might have been a little put out by Preuss' early season form. Majak has been behind players for a long time and would have been excited to see the back of Petrie, from a personal point of view.

He would have assumed that he was the heir apparent to the forward/ruck role. Maj seems to be a confidence player and wants to belong. His head appeared down in his JLT games from the start of the games. But it did feel like he found some spark late against GWS as Preuss struggled. I'd hope he'd embrace the challenge to push him on and not go into his shell.

Interesting comment Arden. I thought that Majak played the EF like he knew it was 'his turn' now. While there is no way of knowing, without being in his head, what you've surmised could well be the case, regarding feeling deflated about the possibility that Preuss might be a chance to take a spot he thought was his for the taking.

If you're right, and we give him some extended game time, hopefully he'll regain said confidence and form and, beyond that, enough to hold him in good stead for future times when his confidence is challenged.

4.

4 is the number of years I have posted that Corey (who is everything you'd ever want in an ex player) should be Maj's mentor.

Like I said before, Heppell being there for the "Aussie" contingent is suss as.
That's not real, is it? What a tragic "when is men's day" thing to do if so.

Me and a bunch of mates / roommates used to play basketball Sunday nights when I was living in Japan many moons ago. We hit the sauce afterwards one time, workplace was pushing our buttons so we all got the dutch courage up and decided they could get stuffed. We all call in sick and hit the beach the next day (around 5-6 of us from memory).

Long story short we're at the beach and some ridiculous local TV station show decides to interview the big bunch of Gaijin for a dumb TV show... so yeah, apparently it doesn't only happen in the movies.

A touch awkward explaining that one, was a good day at the beach though...

Maybe I'm wrong, but I suspect that Zorko doesn't identify as "Yugoslavian".

His wiki page has him being born in Queensland.

Now I'm not an expert but I kinda think that makes him Australian...

If true, it's pretty piss weak by Maj...
I think he just needs to find a bit of mongrel & desire for the contest... He lopes around most of the time looking pretty disinterested or severely lacking in confidence (I still can't tell).
If he could take a leaf out of Waites book... His game last week against GWS, Waitey was an animal... Flying for marks, chasing & harassing, diving for smothers...
Maj has the athleticism of W8, he just needs to find his mojo. Hopefully that comes with confidence & getting a decent run of games.

P.S. If Waite can stay fit (big if, I know) he will tear some teams apart this year... looked a million bucks last week!!!

Isn't the whole point that they are all Australian?
Maybe with *Dyson, it's just a surprise that he's been allowed to stay.

True, but I was referring more to the fact that Serbs and Croats don't accept being lumped together.

One of my staff is Yogoslavian. She moved here 40 years ago. Somehow I doubt Zorko did the same...

The only people still calling themselves Yugo's are the older generation who still pine for the old communist ways. And they would be a very small minority

Yugoslavia slowly started disintegrating in 1990.

That is exactly the point. Can't believe they did it. The blond boy at the back, that's the one Australian among the hyphenated.
