SEN didn't have the rights to the Australian Open until last year. Why would you listen to their recap of the day when the ABC was doing the exact same thing and was also calling matches live?

That's another odd SEN decision ... why buy the rights to the Open and then hardly broadcast any matches? It got ridiculous last week when they called the start of a Kyrgios match but, come 8pm, it was over to RoCo.

Maybe they don't have full rights and are only able to call a limited number of matches. Even though I love tennis I don't enjoy listening to it being called on the radio (I will listen if I am desperate though, i.e. no access to the vision for whatever reason). If they called a lot of the tennis matches in full I don't think it would be popular with the majority of listeners.

Did Cornes really join the Fire Brigade when he was retired by Power ? Or was it just a front-story to protect Cornes ego ?

He joined, but didn't want to go through the ranks so quit (was going to fail probation allegedly)

I turned on for the first time to KB/Turf's new show the other night and it was a segment about horse racing and interviewing a jockey.

Just made me realise with Turf & Whateley regulars on the station that horse racing will probably now replace golf as the most overexposed

The worst thing about that article is that Kane Cornes will be involved via Whateley’s show

No surprise that Bob Murphy is on Gerrard’s show, given he was already a part of SEN and worked with Gerrard before. Hopefully Bob gets to talk about Footy (he’s very articulate in his thoughts on the game) and it doesn’t turn into what AFL360 became at times last year. Somebody on here said Gerrard acts like a horny teenager around Bob and that was spot on.

Good spot. With those guys and Gary Lyon still around, which expert commentary slot would Spud fit into given his Sunday work on Fox? If they are reducing from 60 part timers to 20, he may be gone.

When I otherwise couldn't care less about podcasts. I listened to this one because I was interested to know what was going to happen to the station.

My impression? I think Robbo still has an opportunity to be on the station. He's trumping up Kane Cornes.
