Usually the host of the 5am show also works in some capacity on breakfast so I think they tend to sign off early and get ready for the next show.

The promos for the weekend afternoon racing guff basically sound like three divorced dads at about 5pm on a Saturday shouting over one another about how much of the child support they'll put on the last at Doomben. In fact that's pretty much the whole show from what I've heard.
