He's interested in NFL and the Bill Simmons/Chris Ryan podcast world. Scans Netflix. I assume he gets a couple of hours of podcasts in per day on his runs and showering. He's so busy and I guess he likes to decompress by himself, they allude to the fact he's in and out of the office, whilst others have a knock off beer. The path he's chosen has certainly led him to become a media "superstar" though, I'd have a coffee with him. And I'd have a few pints with David King, some red wine with Tim and Garry. They are all quite comfy. Tim and Garry I enjoy in February, but I'm a bit sick of them during the season - Fireball is way better.

Nah he knows nothing of the NFL. Barely surface level stuff like 'Pat Mahomes is so good' would be about it. Pretends he does though. I'd have a coffee with him too though

I don't think he really understands the American culture and the different parts that different media people and platforms has in it, and just blindly tries to replicate certain things he thinks are good.

Pickers played at Premier level and was a very good player and if he wasn't playing AFL would've played Shield level and did play for the Vic 2nds, that's pretty good
Hargraves should go back to Bendigo
He is self deprecating but was always the prized wicket vs North who were a super competitive side .
Guys in the state squad , Ryder medallists etc rated him - so that would be enough for me

Just shows how ignorant some are

He actually captained Nth Melbourne at that level

Why didn't he kick on to district of sub-district? Not enough interest?
Business Career took off and he played District 1sts to a fair age. It’s not like he needed the coin.

I knew a bloke who was a pretty good batsman in the City of Moorabbin comp. He went to train at Moorabbin subdistrict, and I think they said that training 3 times a week was compulsory, so he politely declined and quit cricket not long after.
I guess there are thousands of similar situations.

To state the obvious, playing at high levels is a fair commitment.

Yeah that's pretty standard, some premier clubs have 4-5 sessions per week in pre season

It's over the top these days , far too many clubs as well
It goes to show how popular cricket is that there needs to be a lot of clubs.
The thing that hurts is the time factor when people are either studying, partying, working or have families.
It is hoped that with our rich cricketing history and massive popularity in the Australian-Indian/Asian community that they can somehow breakthrough and go on to higher honours if that's what they want.

It's dying off at the lower levels with young aussies who don't want to play 2 day games , the boost is coming from the Indian/Asian growing communities and they are making winter cricket exploding as well . Ive been involved in club and competition for a long time , so can see it .
