Given that both stations are listened to very poorly, eg languishing between 0.5 to 4.00 on a good day, what are the benefits. I only listen to 927 on Saturdays and only SEN during the cricket season if the BBC isn’t covering any test matches. I don’t know how many radio stations cover AFL matches but I’m pretty sure there are fewer listeners to 1116 than any other station but happy to be proved wrong. My shares bought at .28cents haven’t improved much. One thing to consider is that RSN 927 has more reach in terms of radio frequency than SEN 1116. I think it is 2nd only to the ABC on the AM dial.
It may mean 927 becoming more sports orientated and 1116 becoming more racing orientated.
It’s deadly dull, SEN1116 hardly covers any other sport than AFL; hence it’s v low ratings. Cricket,EPL the most popular football code in the world as far as I know gets v little coverage and motor racing unless Piastri wins…..?How does Hutchy think JJ is good for radio. Dry humour doesn"t work at all
Such a waste to have a sports channel that only talks about AFL in vic and Nrl in NSW. it's 2025 we can follow multiple sports geeee, f1 show at midnight on a tuesday must rate well
And rates lower than the team from Sydney,Kyle and Jackie?Make me the National Program Manager & all of the issues would be fixed quickly and to a prescribed & professional (somewhat clever actually) plan.
The biggest thing SEN constantly overlooks is the fact that they are running an actual radio station but they refuse to adhere to the traditional standards & routines of one.
Most of the presenters are untrained in the vagaries of how to do a radio show so they completely omit time-checks & station ID's plus they are always tsalking over each other. Added to that, they allow everyone & anyone to be put to air instead of putting them on the "Nuffies List" and ban them.
FMD .......... being a better radio station is not a hard thing to achieve but it takes some strong leadership (no different to having a good coach) coupled with a workable & successful strategy (not unlike a game-plan).
Right now, SEN is like a mid-table team with a number of over-priced players hogging the salary cap and a coach who is out of their depth who wants to stick to an outdated & unworkable game-plan.

Probably a two hour discussion on AFLW would get preferential treatment. Is the cricket on sen tonight?
It's an epidemic.First caller Adrian to whateley simply loves saying "to be honest"
Marbiol Chol is laconic. It's an epidemic. It's become the new "yeah nah"
What did he mean though? What did Fyfe do three times?Healy just now on Nat Fyfe : "Three time premiership player... without... obviously a premiership"
Maybe 3 time All-Australian, or maybe he confused him with Dustin Martin... prone to the odd verbal seniors moment, is Gerard. What did he mean though? What did Fyfe do three times?
oi - its the "eminently sensible" Phil Davies! It's not good on a Wednesday having Phil Davis on with his boring voice and shit straight after Buckley
Good get for the ASHES is Stuart Broard in commentary , but sadly Lisa Stethenlaker
The ego and sadly Bharat is getting like thatAlong with Broad, SEN’s Test commentary team throughout the summer will feature a familiar and knowledgeable line-up of cricket experts and broadcasters, including Gerard Whateley, Bharat Sundaresan, Ian Healy, Lisa Sthalekar, Damien Fleming, Simon Katich, Adam Collins and Tom Morris.
Collo back! Youbloodybewdy?
He wasn't very sensible when he decided to play in that GF whilst clearly being cooked. And he's still in denial trying to justify it to this day.oi - its the "eminently sensible" Phil Davies!
Odds that Kane sits down and watches a game of AFLW? 100/1
Its interesting and vexed. That AFL heavy station promote AFLW, but the big players like garry, tim, kane, dwayne dont watch it or provide any in depth analysisHe was giving that vibe off yesterday.
Someone should tell him it's not worth the backlash. You don't have to be positive but do what most seem to do in the media that don't watch AFLW and just stay silent on it.
Oh dear… that’s not Bob Simpson
thats very bad. inexcusable.Oh dear… that’s not Bob Simpson
