I see Andrew as more of a balanced mid, where Angus is more an inside version, but hard for him to play that role when they have Oliver, Viney and Jones

Recruiters say, that if a player doesn't remind them of an existing/past player, they probably won't make it
What if the player they remind them of didn’t make it?

Serious?

Never heard of that...

I guess then it is a fair enough discussion if that is how it is in recruitment land in AFL...

We've had more than our share of recruiters that didn't make it ;)

Sorry but couldn't go past without posting this, Who do you think the recruiters would have been thinking of when the drafted Mark 'Jakko' Jackson

LOL you would think so but the bloke could play FF and kick goals, But the smile on my face when i read your post and thought of jakko
but who could he have possibly reminded any body off ??

The only guy that was as mad as Jacko, was Darren Wheildon, I reckon, huge talent like Jacko though

Not far off.

Stocker is classier but Brayshaw's aerobic capacity is far superior. Let's see what Russell can do.

On the basis of a few extra years in the system. If Stocker can perform as well as Angus did in the 2nd half of 2018, we’ll be well pleased with pick #19.

Reckon Stocker might be a sneaky chance for a spot up forward early in the season.

No reason why he couldn’t - doesn’t hurt having players in your team that can lace out to your marking forwards / goal kickers.
SPS, Fisher (when not roving and kicking goals himself) & Stocker fit the bill.

Interesting point Arrow.

I agree that the rule would apply more often than not. But what happens if the game changes and new types of players become the fashion? For example, who would Cripps have reminded recruiters of? Or Kouta back in the day?

Different back in Kouta's day, you had programs such as the under 19's where many kids could develop, within a more experienced structure, some from the age of 16. Almost a TAC cup alignment in a way.

Cripps was a hard one, was always a bull, but he just had a massive growth spurt.

There will always be the surprises, Sloane, Fyfe types, but there are fewer busts especially in the 1st 2 rounds, compared to 20 years ago

On that note, who did James Cook remind people of? Bit of a long shot for pick 2 in hindsight.

Cripps was likened to Diesel for his hands IIRC. The extractor as he was dubbed by Shane-o.
