Good to see the club come out and douse expectations a little bit. I know Craig always talks about expectation being a good thing and I doubt that Walker is the kind of kid to let it all get to him but it is crazy that people are talking about Walker like he's already an AFL star. Hopefully this will pull people's heads back in a bit and let the kid start to make a name for himself instead of trying to grow into shoes way too big for any 18 year old.

We've finally got another forward worth getting excited about (after Hentschel); god forbid people are actually excited and have high hopes for the kid.

Nobody is expecting him to kick a hundred goals, everybody is just excited with the ability he already has, and the potential of what he could be.

Why the Crows seem insistent on talking him down is beyond me.

What are good expectations. I think hell get 40-60 goals. But then again he gets 50 in the SANFL. add to that better deleviry and he gets 80-90.

look at last years dream team vs Victoria game.

Fevola cant do anything against Adelaide's Defence. Add a decent midfield and he gets 7 goals.

so Tex got 50 goals in about 18 games in the SANFL. so add decent delivery that becomes 110 in 22 games. Add a good defender against him. Maybe 70-80

Dosent really work like that though. Better delivery is not even that true with midfield pressure. Add that to floods and better/faster/stronger defenders and more pressure (although he did seem to like the attention of the ABC cameras)

They're not talking him down. They keep talking about how he's got super talent and how he reads the play well and has brilliant skills by hand and foot and all of that. The problem is the hype has reached the point where people honestly think he'll kick 50 goals plus in the AFL this year. Even Franklin kicked like 20 goals in his first year. It's gotten to the point where if he doesn't dominate in his first game people are going to jump all over him.

I think he's super exciting but Craig put it best on the radio today, you can't expect an 18 year old to come along and take the game by the scruff of the neck. Be excited by him but for now just look for glimpses of promise, don't expect him to impose himself on the game like he did in the SANFL last year. Not yet.

25 to 30 goals for the season will be suffcient.

30 goals plus is a good return from Walker for me money, assuming he plays the majority of games. I'd just like to see him average more than a goal a game.

1.5 goals plus would be good, Hopefully 2 plus, but that's a lot of asking.

This is my hope. Servicable for most of the year with a couple of games where he shows what he will be capable of in the future.

I took 3 games of 5.5 (5 or 6) and 19 games of 1.5 (1 or 2). = 45

I gues one or two can be more one than two, but yeah.

About a goal a game and I'll be pretty happy, few, even the likes of Franklin and Brown didn't score much more than that in their first season, anymore is a bonus. A four goal haul or two wouldn't go astray, beyond that though, we can't expect too much.
