What’s everyone up to this afternoon?
We are off to Bunnings. No Sausage Sizzle though and I’ve just started eating those again. Think since covid the SS has disappeared for good.
Mrs Zevon and I are heading out to the marvelous western suburbs of Sydney for lunch with her mum by Penrith river. The western suburbs used to be a bit of a dump (some definitely still are) but Penrith itself has actually become a pretty decent spot in the last 10 years

David Neitz is going to be really disappointed that you’re getting rid of his guernsey to make room. Surely you should be taking down the giant poster of Mark Neeld first?
I already swapped that one out with Jake Spencer

Not bad.

The only sport I’ve been brave enough to attempt was tunnelball. The teacher would get the most popular girl and the most popular boy to stand out the front and pick their preferred team one by one, alternating.

I was always picked 2nd last. One behind a kid with bladder control issues and narrowly ahead of the girl in my class that was legally blind
Wow you were a superstar compared to me. I was always last, no exceptions. And the funny thing was that every time I would stand there looking hopeful and thinking this time might be different!

Ahah! Your first question.

I am considering drinking a weird gluten free beer with my lunch, after which I plan to attempt to hang 10 kilos of framed Nathan Jones guernsey from a picture rail. Then I might have a lie down
Can’t imagine a GF Beer but then again straight Beer is yuk lol
I got a Joel Selwood guernsey I have to get framed to put up on my wall too.

Oh yeah. I forgot. SS is back! I had a particularly fine Port Melbourne Rotary one just last week while purchasing sturdy picture wire
Just noticed they are back. It smelt good too but not risking getting one at this point in time.

I'm good at other sports. Played netball, footy & roller derby at decently high levels. I just particularly am terrible at cricket

I had spammy match threads to open last season b2b with the furries and then bombers. Was primarily the reason I almost told the SFA to GAGF.
Yep as soon as you are faced with the question : so I have time to read all this? Then you know these threads are too big.

The best solution is to split each team into 3 teams of 5 to 7 active players each. sit them in 3 extra leagues, and tell them how little qootiers should be seen and not heard!

Get a load of Mobbs - doesn't post 200+ times for one week and comes up with this!

But you're right, of course, and I agree.
But everything I say is worth at least twice as much as anything that anybody else says.

everything I say is worth at least twice as much as anything that anybody else says. Except Zevon. Love reading that guy’s posts.
Thanks Mobbs 😍 I was worried there for a second

Do you have a bladder issue?

I have seen them advertised when I've been during the week, but haven't been on the weekend to check if they are real, or just old ad boards....

Do you have a bladder issue?
I mean personally I don’t even see why the bladder issue kid was picked last in Proper Gander’s school. I would have thought a bladder issue kid would a) be able to run really fast, b) want the match to be over really quickly and hence play out of their skin, and c) the opposing team wouldn’t want to go near them.

Why would you waste such an outstanding resource? Those popular kids picking the team were idiots

Roys get a bag as part of our welcome kit. You'd think we'd see out a quarter.

I was always last picked in all school sports. However, this was quite amusing when it came to field hockey. Because I was school captain, played against State League 1 opponents (from which State sides are picked, then the National Team is selected) as I got older. I wasn't good enough to go any further at the time, then moved rurally for a long stretch.. And every year, my side (of which I was picked last) would wipe the floor with all other internal school opponents and everyone was amazed. Then the next year rolled round and I was picked last.....

So THAT’S the key to us finally running out all four quarters? TedDougChris just needs to get us bigger bags?

No no. He was 3rd last. Then PG and the blind girl got the wooden spoon.

You know, I have no idea why a teacher would do this to kids in the first place. It’s horrible. The fact that I can recall it decades later shows the kind of damage these things can do.

I’m a broken PG now. The final straw came today when Mobbs implied I should cease posting for historical purposes

Similar story with me and footy. Don’t get me wrong, I was no superstar at footy at all, but my school was your classic Sydney rugby school and nobody had a clue how to play AFL. Those muppets made me look better than Buddy.

You are right I can’t believe it was ever a thing. Surely in this day and age it’s rightly been done away with

You should be happy and proud - Mobbs said I'd posted enough back in S25 !!!!

I'll be meeting with the local elders at Kudykina who have some zoning rule queries about the Northern Division of the SOFU. They are very clearly located within Shea's zone and it should be a no-brainer, however they consider themselves more a part of the same wilderness that comprises the Upper Tanoca Valley - this association leads the locals to identify more with the Tindoo people. Indeed, their culture and society seems somehow to be more in-tune with the southerners.

We need to find a resolution, as Kudykina has some good qootballers, and it's important to let them know where they'll be playing. The options will obviously be to stand by the Shea zone limits, to enable an exception in this case based on connections with Tanoca Valley, or to do the former, but enable a clearance system which would apply on a seasonal basis as opposed to a week-by-week loan function. Some of the Kudykina guys don't have much exposure to English, so I'll enlist MoscowHawk to help with translations.

While I am out at Kudykina and Shea, it will also be a good opportunity for me to stop by the Granica people in Ibarawa. No zoning problems here (of the qootball kind), but there might be some qisa issues. In a general sense, the Ibarawine and the Hindeallans are allowed free commute between the two nations without a passport, but a qisa still needs to be available in the case that border security feel a need to do a spot check. Not all the Granica players have a visa, and indeed nor do all the rest of the SOFU. So I want to assess the possibility of a dedicated matchday pass which can be issued on the basis of a registered league log and some alternative yet sufficient proof of identity.

The real hope is to temporarily (and clearly only in terms of recreational events!) relabel Granica as a satellite town of the Hindealla borderlands for a Saturday - which would over-ride the need for a quisa, or any other p.i.d., at all. I am not confident, but we can at least lay out the roadmap and see where people yelp in consternation. The dedicated matchday temp qisa will be the back-up plan, and it should be a much smoother ride should we go that route.

I’m told Dingster is an expert on the geopolitical sensitivities of Kudykina, Shea and Ibarawa. You should take him with you on the road trip to look after all the negotiations. Don’t let him pick the radio station though unless you want to be listening to Sky Racing Radio the whole way

I didn’t fully understand this. So I gave you a love react so people think I did
